Deck Description

A fun deck to play, Geist Haunting offers great card synergy and a degree of control over your opponent's creatures. All the creatures are Spirits and non spirits that directly influence all Spirits you control. This is the 3rd revision of a mostly Innistrad themed deck.

How to Play

The goal of this deck is to lock down your opponent's creatures while amassing a formidable spirit onslaught.

- Creatures:

Geist of Saint Traft, in many instances will be a pain for your opponent. a 4/4 flying Angel token can spell certain doom if utilized early game...say, round 4. He is also a suitable candidate to enchant with Call to the Kindred.

Drogskol Captain seconds Geist of Saint Traft in it's ability to pump your other spirits and make them hexproof. Should you happen to get two of these out early, it may be difficult for your opponent to handle.

Doomed Traveler deserves a mention here. He is an awesome 1 drop that turns in to a 1/1 flying Spirit token when slain. Given the previous situation with the two Drogskol Captains, he would be 3/3 Hexproof instead.

Geist-Honored Monk is a powerful creature with this deck. Vigilance. Power and toughness equal to the amount of creatures you control. She comes out with two 1/1 flying Spirit tokens. Should you happen to have held on to any bounce spells, bring her back in to play for more flyer tokens.

Angel of Flight Alabaster is an invaluable asset to Geist Haunting. Though not a Spirit, she is a 4/4 flying Angel that at the beginning of your upkeep returns a spirit card of your choosing from your graveyard. This has changed the game for me many times. This mechanic allows many routes of strategy, namely blocking with low mana cost Spirits to return them again, or for the simple fact that many of the creatures will draw spot removal at some point.

Spectral Rider for 2 mana is a great addition. In many cases it will be unblockable to your opponent's creatures, and it provides good bait for your more powerful creatures to avoid spot removal.

- Spells:

Geist Haunting boasts a fair amount of control, including a few instants and sorcery's with flashback. They are fairly straightforward. Use them to lure your opponent and trap them.

- Summary:

As you can see, every creature has its role in Geist Haunting. It is best to try to establish some form of defense before going on the offensive. Geist Haunting had the hardest time against aggro decks in my playtesting. Other than that, it seems to be a pretty solid deck, it wins a lot. May tweak it at some point to accommodate playing aggro decks in the future.

Constructive criticism always welcome!
