Not necessary the second ability also adds counters so no need for the first technically mind could always be worth putting a few in make full potential of the card thanks for the suggestion mate

yeah but you can get rid of 7 lands at most plus your banking on the fact ill let you splinter i could counter it

change cancel for counterspell lower mana cost :)

replace the mana leaks with counter spells, better to stop you opponant casting a spell at all rather than giving them a chance to stop it with 3 mana and let them cast their spell
