You need the Nissas Chosen for the first ability on the planeswalker
Not necessary the second ability also adds counters so no need for the first technically mind could always be worth putting a few in make full potential of the card thanks for the suggestion mate

Forget the Nissa's Chosens... it's a waste of room... And Heedless One don't interact with other elves, instead of Heedless use Ezuri, Renegage Leader as a finisher, and to use the extra mana produced by the channelers. In a deck like this Pendelhaven fits so well! Oran-Rief + Bramblewood Paragorn + Joraga Warcaller = BOOM!
