Deck Description

The budget of budget!

How to Play

Basically, Maralen of the Mornsong searches for Ad Nauseam. Use Ad Nauseam to draw your whole deck. With your massive hand, you cast Dark Sphere and and Sickening Dreams for about 40. Dark Sphere keeps you alive and if your opponents didn’t gain a ton of life they should all lose in one swoop. If your combo gets disrupted in any way, you can use the Elixir of Immortality to restart everything. Maralen costs 3 life to fetch Ad Nauseam and Ad Nauseam would cost 3 life to get Dark Sphere, Sickening Dreams and Elixir of Immorality. The Elixir of Immorality gains you 5 life so you lose only 1 life every time you attempt the combo. If they kill your commander, it goes back to the commander zone and you just have to wait to cast it again (cost 2 more every time your commander dies). Also note that you can’t lose to decking when Maralen is on the board since you can’t draw cards.

I like it, maybe fill it in with some other zero cost artifact creatures for defense just in case and I think are golden. (aside from the land thing that Freethescruff said above)

Also shifting wall would be nice as an artifact creature which is effectively zero cost for Ad Nauseam since it is X cost.

(edit) I just thought of something. Maybe a pithing needle or some cheap removal would be good since your opponent gets to get search for anything first. Probably picking a pithing needle if they catch on to your deck idea. Though definitely a great idea, especially against people for the first time.

A quick search of zero cost artifacts found me Zuran Orb. Put out for 0 and has the ability for 0 sacrifice a land and gain 2 life. Fits pretty good if things get stalling until later in the game for whatever reason

I was placing a singles order tonight, and threw Maralen, Sickening Dreams, Ad Nauseum, and Dark Sphere into the list. I'd never play the deck seriously, but three bucks is worth the lolz even if I just do it once.

Three bucks was definitely worth it now that Ad Nauseum is six bucks a pop.

Take out arbor for a spellbook to keep all those lands in your hand for the discard

Love it. But add a venser's Journal let's you gain like 90 life each turn and you don't need to discard all your cards after you pick them.
