Deck Description

This is my revised version of Minermiah's "Rapidly Spreading Infection" deck, so credit goes to him. I loved the initial idea and thought it could be tightened up, so here's my take on it.

Edit: Just discovered Snake Cult Initiation and Caress of Phyrexia. Going to work them into the deck. Probably lose two Gruesome Deformities and the Executioner's Hood and Underworld Connections entirely, because these two cards are just too good to pass up.

How to Play

Sideboard logic: If you're facing a strong direct damage red deck, whip out the Plains(combo with Evolving Wilds should get them out in time), Phyrexian Unlife and Melira, Sylvok Outcast. Now he can't kill you with his direct damage, or at all, because Melira makes it so you can't take poison counters either. Basically makes you invincible to that type of deck. There's even a Lightning Greaves to give Melira shroud, to really make the combo unbreakable. Phyrexian Vatmother goes in against this type of deck, too. Melira prevents you from getting poison counters from it, and you get a big creature with infect. Win win. You could also throw in the Phyresis and use them to give Melira infect, but i'm not sure if Phyresis is actually necessary in the sideboard. I may take it out. Another Reaper of Sheoldred is there for red damage decks also, because destroying it with spells gives the enemy a poison counter, thus forcing a bad decision. Waste the spell and get the counter directly, or let him swing me and get a counter anyway. Bad choices all around. Phyrexian Crusader can go in against a red deck also, or a white to counter white's creature destruction spells and their knight cards. Pretty situational, but why not. Finally, I threw in another Phyrexian Hydra in case you're facing a big creature green deck.

Edit: Threw a Sabertooth Cobra into the sideboard for counterspell heavy blue decks, to limit how much they can cast or take more counters. I'm considering putting it into the main deck though instead of the Ichorclaw Myr. Really not a big fan of that card at all, and I like the idea of making the enemy bleed poison counters all game unless they keep paying up. It's great disruption to their plans. I'll think on it more...

Deck discussion for Revised Infection

i love the whole poison thing, it is probably the most annoying way of winning a game ever, and my poison in the well deck is probably one of my favorite decks, you could probably pick a few ideas from it if you really think you could use it,
but all in all i think this deck is good, a few suggestions from me though

contagion engine is effective to rack up two more poison counters on each opponent and all their creatures, each round, for 4 mana! and throne of gerth, if used on core prowler, does the same thing.

man i've never seen either of those cards before, i love them both. the initial cost of contagion engine is a bit steep, but it'd be awesome in the later game. that one proliferation could win you the game. throne of gerth + core prowler is a great combo too, and it gives more utility to cards like ichorclaw myr. i was almost considering taking that guy out, but now he has a reason to stay in; as a sacrificial lamb haha....now i just have to find a way to work those cards into the deck. probably can easily drop the golgari guildgate, right?
