Deck discussion for Big, Bad, Treefolk. (Modern)

I've had fantastic luck with this deck. Seems to run a little smoother than the other Treefolk decks out there. The side deck is still kind of a work in progress.

Turn 2 Dorans and Dungrove Elders, and most importantly, turn 3 Leaf-Crowned Elder. A lot of other 4 mana guys that are easy to get out by turn 3 if you can't manage to get ahold of a Leaf-Crowned Elder by then. Birds of paradise cover my ass from early game fliers (Glaze Fiend and the like), and between them, Murmuring Bosk, and Sakura Tribe Elders (which are shamans, btw), it's easy to get the other colored mana I need.

Maelstrom Pulse and the Woodfall Primus (easy to pull with Harbingers, easy to play with LCE) normally get rid of whatever needs getting rid of, and if they're not handling it, got plenty of removal in the sideboard.

The Harbingers are nice to champion with the Unstoppable Ashes.

Dauntless Dourbarks can give huge life with the Orchard Wardens.

Liliana (easy to play by turn 4) works well with the Leaf-Crowned Elders, and it's nice to give the opponent multiple kinds of threats to worry about.

You get the picture. Any ideas, tips, advice, or comments in general are welcome.

cool! what would you change about this one? yeah, i'd love to run those lands, and probably will eventually, i just don't have the dough for em at the moment. I wouldn't mind having an elspeth either, although that third ability isn't of much use to me.

primal command is a big help. 1 day of judgement a damnation, Timber Protector helps urs stay around so u dont have to worry about the big reset I used sappling colfener with the life lose form the burn of my lands tomb, garden, and bosk. thats another thing dont be afraid to use the W and B off bosk too. I've seen too many others lock themself down on a color cuz they didnt want to lose the 1 for tapping bosk other then a G with 4 comands and sappling u wont be behind long once u get to swinging with a 3/5 gaing life off the top of ur deck. imdommable ancients is a great treefolk. just being a 2/10 is a nice blocker with doran u got a 10/10 for 4. i wish i knew what i did with my deck list i'd post it to let u see what i had to compare it toto me the lorwyn/shadowmoor block was the best printed ever

i went ahead and ordered an elspeth. hasn't come in yet so i haven't had a chance to try it out. but since i threw a plains in there to fetch with my sakura-tribe elders, and since i added another doran, i figured i'd try a couple of indomitable ancients. i took the 2 chameleon colossus out to make room for the ancients, but put them in my sideboard since they're nice to have against black.

i also ordered a few spellskites to put in my sideboard. figured they'd come in handy, and doran makes em pretty sick for 2 mana. we'll see how it goes once they all get here. i have a tourny coming up on the 6th. i may change it up if it doesn't run smoothly.

those sample hands are lookin good. i can't wait for those cards to come in the mail. has anyone here used mtgfanatic? if so did you have good luck with them? i've bought everything else from abugames and had great luck, but elspeth was way cheaper at $25 nm/m (got the last one, atm) from mtgfanatic, so i ordered her from there. just wondering.

I really like all the combos you have in here, maybe throw in some wild growths to help with land ramp.

Check out my blink deck and let me know what you think.

I used to play a treefolk deck VERY similar to this, but then I changed it by taking out the unstoppable ashes and (gasp) the Doran's. I don't find that treefolk benefit from having that 3rd color, and your most powerful creatures (Dauntless, Wodfall, and Dungrove) don't benefit from him at all. It is nice to be able to play a 3/3 Harbinger, but I don't think it's worth it to have Doran in the deck.

I also don't run birds. I know they speed up the early game, but I much prefer...

Oracle of Mul-Daya!

She combos PERFECT with the rest of the creatures in the deck. Make sure you are always playing the lands on top of your deck so your Leaf Crowned Elders always set off their ability, speed mana directly in to play to pay for your primuses sooner. She can even be put in to play by Leaf Crowned Eldder and benefits from Bosk Banneret because they are all Shaman!

I run two Damnations in the deck (could just as easily be wrath or DoJ) just to wipe the board when my treefolk are all indestructible, thus I also run 4 timbre protectors.

You can take a look at it here. It stomps face pretty consistently and has at time made entire tables surrender when it gets out of control and plays everything, lol.
