I've been trying to figure out a way to break Heartess Summoning in Legacy ever since I took a look at surewhynot's Heartless Summoning deck (Death Metal - Deck link: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=239475) Here's what I came up with Heartless Summoning + two Myr Retriever = equals endless artifact to graveyard to hand loop How it works 1. Heartless Summoning makes cost of casting Myr Retriever free 2. After you cast 1st Myr Retriever it comes into play and instantly is killed by Heartless Summoning's -1/-1 to all your creatures and 1st Myr Retriever goes to graveyard. 3. Cast 2nd Myr Retriever (again for free) it also wlll go to graveyard but not before briefly coming into play and returning 1st Myr Retriever back into hand. 4. Repeating 2 - 3 and much as you like as it all can be done for zero mana Obvious brokeness happens when Arcbound Ravager is in play Heartless Summoning + Arcbound Ravager + 2 Myr Retrievers = Infinite Power Toughness artifact creature !!!!! All that for just two mana (1B for Heartless Summoning everything else casts for free) !!!!!! Need Card Draw? The following combo should do the trick Altar's Reap + Ashnod's Altar + 2 Myr Retreiver = infinite card draw Ashnod's Altar + 2 Myr Retriever + Discipline of the Vault = Infinite damage Minor Combo in Deck Heartless Summoning + Myr Superion = 4/5 (5/6 + -1/-1) creature for free Ideas for sideboard or alternative ways to protect combo (currenly using thoughtseize, diabolic intent, unearth to protect combo) are welcome.

um arcbound ravager for a 0 costing infinite infinite creature since you can sacrifice the myr to the ravager before it dies from -1/-1 ?

also with the ravager you dont need the dark ritul to play disciple of the vault cuz ravager costs 0, though still the summons costs 2, still if its not turn 1 its turn 2 win
Hi 7HEE133TE, Thanks for the input. Hadn't thought about arcbound ravager. I'll replace a couple of Myr Superion with the it just so the deck can make an Infinite creature for fun. The Myr Superion really is a superior card to the arcbound because it is no dependent on having 2 Myr Retrievers to get big it all ready is big.
Heartless Summoning does not allow you to have a cycle with Myr Retrievers that is endless when you add even one other Artifact into the mix. If I am mistaken please explain how.
Bitter ordeal over ravager. Make your infinite graveyard loop and cast bitter ordeal to exile your opponent's library.
