"Your general starts the game in a special "Command Zone". You may cast your general from the commander zone as though it were in your hand. Whenever your general dies or becomes exiled, you may put your general back to the command zone. If you do, its mana cost rises with 2 colorless mana." what does this mean in connection with quicksilver amulet? an 8-drop commander is hard to bring out in a deck full of 4-5 drops :(
i always thought a duskmantle seer deck was viable, was never had the time to build one. as for removal, i used to never use removal, only ran agro and silly alternate win con. decks. then i played a game where the first 4 cards i cast were o-ringed or sent on a journey to nowhere. by an agro boros deck! that hurt. but then i ran removal, and now i'm hated by all my friends at our multiplayer games :)btw, want some help with this control deck i builtwww.mtgvault.com/planeswalker999/decks/esper-controlmill
lol. old combos with old. no, old combos with new.
ended up using a control deck i put together. link will be up soon. partner couldn't make it so my new partner used boroswww.mtgvault.com/planeswalker999/decks/esper-controlmill
it really seems like that mana base needs some work. i was thinking abut the fact that are 9-drops in here and only 21 lands, but then i saw it had 71 cards. there should be AT LEAST 5 more lands in here, probably cut a few cards, farseek, boundless realms, and the keyrune are a nice start but thy don't solve the problem.
yeah, true. the old versions of the guilds always seem to combo well with the old version. graft gives counters to creatures that say "when this creature gets a counter do this" and dredge mills your scavenge. i wish ravnica, city of guilds was legal in extended.
so i've seen. i wanted to get an amazing deck concept so i deck searched by the most-liked deck on the vault. (sadly, i really don't like black all to well so i've never had the honor of trying to presumably very good deck)
congrats. when i saw this deck first it was only at about 200-250. you've come a long way. an interesting idea i wanted to try was a thraximundar deck. dead drop, grimgrin the corpse born, and a couple other "sacrifice a creature" cards, and suddenly thrax is a 20/20 wit flying a mean ability
man. anybody have a good deck based on havoc festival i could see? rakdos seems very risky to play due to all the things that harm you along with everybody else. the safest alternative i can find is some enchantment or artifact that cuts down on attackers that could be needing to be blocked by carnage gladiator or something to that effect.
not really related to this deck, but i need a ruling on this. havok festival says you can't gain life. would tapping the tree of redemption's ability to swap 1 life with 13 count as gaining life in this way? i'm considering a jund multiplayer deck where nobody has double-digit life for more than a few turns, but i prefer not to be at the same disadvantage to a single lightningbolt.
thanks. imight pull mine out of a box for tomorrow's 2-headed-giant game. (partners running an almost mono-ravnica goblin deck)
gatecreepers are solid cards, help your in con. and give mana ramp. with maybe 3 mana per turn taken by maze's end, you need to get planty of mana for other stuff. the only problem is nobody seems to take the idea of this amazing card seriously. axebane and maze's end are thought of a silly cards with no value. i already own most of the cards we've descused, but if we can get this winning consistently i'll definitly buy the boardsweeps i need as singles. my sideboard is generally an extra set of those circles, with maybe moat (a proxy, the original is expensive) and 1 or 2 other enemy-deck-specific enchantments.
yeah. could've sworn there was like 26 land in here. whatever, i'll fix it at some point
i wanna see chandra, bolas, and ajani. the bolas deck should totally run bolas's old creature form and tezzeret, agent of bolas
jace the mind sculpter should have one of his abliliteies be that you get an emblem that says once per turn you may pay 1 colorless 1 blue and have target opponent mill 7 cards
hey, i'm making a pair of decks for a semi-casual 2-headed-giant tournament next week. to this end, my partner is running laboratory maniac/self-mill. i'm running blue-black-white control with some mill that targets my partner and utilizes the grey merchant of ashpodel (gary) as an alternate win con. my deck of the 2 will be up momentarily. please help?currently it's only blue-white, so adding black is the tricky part i need help with. gary is to good to pass up:)http://www.mtgvault.com/planeswalker999/decks/controlmill-2hg-deck/
lol, so amazing
replace jace with lonawar elves and add an enchantment aht makes lands easier to play, and it could be a very good not-real deck:)
