Deck Description

Standard, Jeskai burn/control...

How to Play

So, I think I've found the best way to utilize the Phoenix... ...as she's valnurable while being face down, you can protect her with counter spells... ...she dealing 4-6 damage at a turn goes very well with the burn theme, cuz it's an assist for her finishing the game... ...End Hostilities of course is perfect with her as well as with Sarkhan... ...Mindswipe is badass here as it can protect Ashcloud & also deal extra damage while countering a spell, thus setting up the Phoenix to end the game... ...Deflecting Palm is just another way to survive & assist the Phoenix's finishing game... ...Sarkhan is also a potential finisher as well as the burn in this deck by itself.......

Deck discussion for Dissipate into Ash

Good deck! You should consider Keranos, seems nice here!

Sure, he'd be good here, but I just don't like to use him where I can barely have him as a creature...

It's fine... ...actually turned out to be competative against any type of standard deck now... ...but I wouldn't take it to anywhere beyond FNM.......

Really like that way you're doing this! wonder how powerful it is but I can see it win against any kinds and levels of decks in standard.

I'm curious how this would stand up to a deck with black hand disruption in it. (Thoughtseize / Mind Rot / Disperse).

Duress is out though... ...& the answer to your riddle is: "Counter spells"... ;)

Meant to say Mind Rot instead of Duress (corrected) but T1-T2 you have no answers to those main deck that I can see. Giving them a chance to remove the counterspells from your hand, so my question still stands... :p

Why isnt swan song main deck? ;.;

Swan Song can be very disadventegous against aggro decks & such, so I won't play it mainboard... ...when I'm up against a deck that's strong on discard effects, I sideboard both Negate & Swan Song(perhaps all of them)... ...it's pretty much enough.......

...if they remove a counterspell of my hand, they probably won't be able to do the same to the Phoenix, so it's if I countered Thoughtseize with a spell & my opponent still lost the 2 life for it, so it's worse than if I actually countered it & I also didn't had to pay mana for the counter spell... :)

Besides, against this deck, that 2 life loss from Thoughtseize can be match deciding, especially if more than 1 were cast... ...the burn in this one is really fast & strong & the Phoenix also deals 2 when it turns face up + 4 damage/attack(hard to block)... ...the thing I'm most afraid of is Magma Sprey, but I can counter that as well(if the opponent plays it, I sideboard all 4 Negates & 1-2 Swan Songs)... ...though Anger of the Gods is also effective against the Phoenix, but since I don't run many creatures here, it wouldn't be an ideal card against this deck.......

Even if they get rid of 1-2 Phoenix, I can easily find another one unless I'm very unlucky(Huge amounts of Scry in the deck & also some draw effects)...
