Won't U rather take out the Lobber Crew?..

I use 3 Electromancer, 'cuz I play cheap spells... ...also Izzet Charm can't be reduced... It's good for the Overlord spells & to assist Snapcaster at times... Also a 2/2 goblin for 2 of course...

I had a krenko deck before rotation, that might be a good way to reuse those cards. Have you playtested it? I always felt krenko home was a pure aggro red, but I might be mistaken. Is he worth it in this deck?

I've tested it & Krenko gives the deck the equaliser against token decks, that playes big tokens... If I sideboard Electrickery, I can eleminate mana creatures & spirit/human tokens instantly & also, if I play it along with Mizzium Mortars, I'm able to kill 5/5 creatures... With the Electromancer, I can do that for 6 mana...

I've beat my Seleynya that is at top decks for 3-1... Beat my Esper spirits by 3-0... B/G/U zombies 1-3... Bant populate 3-2... Azorius Control 0-3... Grixis control 0-3... ...& finally, my U/W/R miracles 2-3...

Most of my decks beat it, but those R also tournament quality... Strong control decks are a weakness to this...

Nice deck Poet... I have a question regarding how you test your decks - do you actually build them all, then pit them against each other? Or have you devised/aquired some sort of automated test rig?

I've been considering for some time that I could build a test rig, which plays decks against each other, but I'm sure someone else must have already done this..

THX!.. :)

Yes... There R more than 1 program, that U can test your decks with...

However... I do this 1st by faking the cards I don't have already & test the deck(s) to see if it's worth buying/trading the cards to build it...

Of course, I'm playing my decks against each other a lot & also clashing with 1 of my friends, who is a dicent builder & player...

Today, in Hungary... We went to FNM... Me in Budapest & him in our hometown, Gyor... I gave him my "Demonic Brilliance" & I toke my Azorius control with me & we both finished 1st :) ... It's my 24th FNM victory in a row... I'm a little nervous to make it a millenium... :)

wow, good work on the FNMs! I'm off to a commander night tonight, not sure whether to play Sisay, Reaper King, or Ghave. Links are below if you're interested. Also have a nice Arcum Daggson EDH, but it's a massive fag to play against, so it tends to remain in it's box.

Can you point me in the direction of any of these deck testing programs? I don't buy enough cards to make tournament quality standard decks. I might be tempted to buy the cards and do a standard constructed tourny at the end of this block, since it is incredible... The testing is a real problem for me though, since I won't buy the cards unless I have something which works well, and making something that works well without any testing is not easy - for me, anyhow... I can see 90% of how a deck will work by looking through the card list, but sometimes you just sit down to play, and think wow, didn't realise it could do that (more so with EDH, where there are many times more possible combo's).

THX!..

I'm not playing commander, nor EDH, so I doubt I can help, but I'll check your decks & see, if I can help... ...tho I donno' what time isit in your zone, so I'm might be too late... :)

If U ask me, those testing programs R worthless... The draw mechanisam is quite irrelative, just like here by the "draw sample hand" option... Just cink the cards U don't have, than test the deck & U'll see, if it's worth buying the cards for building it...

Good luck!..

I love goblins, but I'm going to abstain from commenting on them till this block fully develops. Right now there isn't much you can do with them as a theme, they are more of a utility at the moment. Then only thing I would suggest is to load this up with red flashback instants and socreys to maximize Guttersnipe.

I rather use Snapcaster, than spells with flashback... The 2 doesn't go well togeather...

This is not strictly a goblin deck, but a spell based deck with some goblin tribal impact that makes it unique & a little harder to prepare for...

I control the board pretty much & usually have many creatures out... ...can recover after a mass removal, if I couldn't counter it... ...& I can also boost my creatures by some of my spells...

I think, there is much I can do with this deck & it's hanging right there with my tournament decks... :)

or Captain of the Mists.

Could one also use mark of mutiny to untap him and boost him at the same time, the wording of it kinfa make me think it can be done?

1

The Captain is good & it could be untapped by playing Snapcaster... Tho', if I spend mana to cast Snap & to flashback a spell, I probably won't have enough left to use the Captain's ability for a 2nd time in that turn...

Madscientist... Right on the "Mark"!.. :)

I'm now highly considering that card, since it's good for many perpouses & very nice with Krenko!..

Cool, that's what I tought.
As you say, it fits multiple roles. If you don't have krenko on the field it can be used the normal way. And if the Boss is on the field, it makes loads of goblins. Maybe it's too much trouble to actuslly be playable, but infernal plunge seems to be fun with mark of mutiny, sac a creature you control, cool i'll sac yours. Lol. The very first "almost good" deck I builded was using this combo, with chandra and reverberate to double it all.
Turn 1:mountain, goblin arsonist.
Turn 2:mountain, goblin arsonist, goblin fireslinger.
Turn 3:mountain, sac 1 arsonist:infernal plunge, krenko
Turn 4:Tap krenko for 3 token, mark of mutiny, tap krenko for another 6
Turn 5:Goblin warchief, tap krenko for 13 more, swing with 22 hasty 2/2 goblins

That was the kind of thing I wanted to do, never hapened tough lol.

I like it , looks alot like one I built around Krenko, except I dont use lighthouse or arms dealer, I play Rummaging goblin instead, since his draw is just a no cost tap. I also just run all 4 arsonist main. and I dont see the point really for 2 teleportals when you have 2 rift, personally id drop teleportal for 2 more rift, unblockable vs. nothing there to even block lol.

Thank you for commenting in my bant aggro deck: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=399239.

I really like this deck they only small change I would do probably is -2 Teleportal +2 Cyclonic Rift, -1 Mob Boss +1 Electromancer(Really nice combo with the overloads)

Not sure why so many likes... I mean it's well rounded, but quite unoriginal.

Unoriginal?..

Who have made a deck like this?..

Noboddy be4 me...

This is a goblin deck with Krenko, playing Snapcaster & spells(control & burn along with creature boost)...

I'm the 1st, who made this... At least the 1st I know & the 1st who toke it to a competative level...

Your opinion prooves, that you are inexperienced... ...& that you didn't checked the deck closely...

1
Posted 26 October 2012 at 23:41

Well if I'm not understanding what makes this original, please explain. From what I see, you're using snapcaster to re-play cards in your graveyard to possibly get more goblins out for krenko, or for removal. Electromancer makes this process cheaper. It looks like it's essentially just Krenko giving you loads of goblins, with 4 cards that can let you play a spell from your graveyard that turn. The Krenko/loads of goblin combo is quite often done and easy to come up with, and this is why I call it unoriginal.

0

So... according to what you said... ...if I use Krenko, than my deck automatically becomes unoriginal...

If I use Snapcaster with Electromancer, than my deck becomes unoriginal as well...

I'm not just playing these cards, but playing all togeather & I'm not just playing removal & Krenko's command as spells, but also boosts...

I'm playing12 Overload spells & the Electromancer is awesome for tham...

Snapcaster is a killer with Guttersnipe...

I'm combining many things here, that very few builders could put togeather in a deck of 60 cards...

...so I suggest you look closely & think be4 you judge & badmouth...

Okay it made top deck so I guess I'll get around to looking at it lol
I feel evolving wilds is weak really it's unneeded color fixing maybe if this were three color but I don't use it in jund and I have no mana issues
I feel like 1 more desolate lighthouse would be useful
I feel like teleportal is better then dynacharge I'd run 4 an run an extra cyclonic rift

Also how is dissipate working Out for you do you keep mana open for it often seems an odd choice

1
Posted 27 October 2012 at 04:49

Teleportal's Overload coast is higher & Dynacharge boosts my creatures better, so I split tham into 3-2...

I only use 1 Evolving Wilds, 'cuz I play only 21 lands & 1 of tham could not produce colored mana... It is the final stabileser in the base...

I play only 2 Dissipate in the main deck, 'cuz I don't alwayes keep mana for it, but the curve of the deck is pretty low, so many times I do... It's working out great & in the late game, Syncopate wouldn't alwayes do the trick...

I'm still thinking... ...I have Izzet Charm allready in the main board, so I might play only 1 Dissipate in the main deck & 3 Cyclonic Rift... ...or may be no Dissipate, 3 Rift & 4 Electromancer...

I'd drop Syncopate from the sideboards & have the 3 Dissipate there...

What do you think?..

...if U have the time, what would U suggest for this deck of mine?.. I'm having trouble perfecting it...

I thin you could play test and find a way out of the terramorphic either red or blue I think this deck doesn't really like the cancels main board so 3 rift four electromancer Gould be fine you could easily be casting cyclonic rift for 5 some games

Love this deck man! Great work! i am currently looking for a cheap standard deack since im from argentina and cards here are way too expencive. I think a deck like this could work. What about a couple of think twice or thought scour?

Think Twice is great with Electromancer, but I can't take out a thing... :)

The only thing this deck lacks is draw spells... I have Izzet Charm & Desolate Lighthouse, but I have to discard for them as well & I'd rather use the Charm to counter, or for burn 97 out of 100 times... :)

If you are looking for a cheap standard deck, I can help you bringing up a list... Just contact me at one of my decks, if I forget!.. :)

I'm from Hungary & cards are expensive here as well, but I have a huge collection of cards & I alwayes trade with players who rather play Modern &/or Legacy format... I also open a lot of boosters, because I have a 20% discount at a store, so I get the cards I need for about one five the prize... :)

I'm playing since I was 9, since 1999...

I will think on how to make a competative standard deck, that could be built for a low prize...

If you are interested, I have 4 other top decks right now on the front page...

I also have a deck I'm working on, so suggestions are well appreciated... :)

I realized you see about every opportunity for making a highly competative deck :) Have you got any legacy decks? because I havent seen any from you. only standard and modern. are you not playing legacy?

Thanx, man! :)

It's been about 4.5 years since I last played Legacy... ...now I'm playing a lot in Standard & Modern formats... :)

I'm playing since 1999, when there was no Legacy... That time I played an R/U/W counter/burn deck, wich won me my first ever FNM... :)

...I was 9 back than... My MTG carrier started with a victory, wich made me hella' proud & happy... :)

Than I started playing Elves... ...& the story of the master poet goes on... :)

Thanx for asking!..
