Deck Description

Creatures are how you win at magic, right? You build your army and turn them sideways, right?

WRONG!

Try to play creatures? I'll kill them. Make them hexproof? I'll wipe the board. Make them indestructable? I'll make you sacrifice them. And when you don't have any creatues anymore I'll kill you slowly with Mutavault, or I can murder you with Vraska's assassin tokens.

How to Play

Hold back any removal til you need it. There's a lot of it, but if you run into a couple of bad draws you might regret killing an early 1/1 when a fatty comes down on turn 4 or 5. The win-cons are basically just Mutavault and Vraska, but it's possible to hit directly for a lot with Clan Defiance late in the game.

The sideboard plays a pretty crucial part of this deck, so here's a little more detail on why I picked the cards I did.

3x Glaring Spotlight - Since most of the spells in this deck are spot removal, hexproof is a pain to get around. Luckily, R&D decided to put in a nullifier in the form of a 1 cost artifact. Great against Gladecover Scout and Witchstalker.

2x Ratchet Bomb - Best sideboard against low curve decks like RDW. Just playing a Bomb on turn 2 and holding it at 1 could stop your opponent from casting a lot of their spells. Also obviously good against token decks and actually pretty awesome against walkers, since their mana cost is only between 3-4 usually (with a couple up at 6).

2x Dark Betrayal - Simply put, Mono-Black Devotion is a thing which makes Doom Blade pointless. It's also strangely good against Red and Blue Devotion decks that run things like Rakdos Shredfreak/Cackler and Nightveil Spector.

3x Erebos, God of the Dead - G/W and B/W Midrange are really the only matchups where he comes in, but that's a huge architype in my local meta, so preventing lifegain is a huge positive. Not to mention the opportunity to get some card advantage if need be.

3x Fade into Antiquity - I dont't see this card getting a lot of play, but it should definitely get more. Let's analyze real quick. Only 1 more to cast than naturalize, but deals with graveyards, bestow, and most importantly Gods/Weapons. How do you respond to a turn 3 Thassa? How about next turn Fade? Sounds good to me.

1x Abrupt Decay and 1x Dreadbore - Extra copies to usually trade for the other in certain matchups. Anything control based will probably see Abrupt adecay where as Aggro decks see Dreadbore to take out their fatty for cheap.

Deck discussion for Jund Creatureless Control

I like the idea, but Vraska and mutavault, while decent, really dont seem like enough. Maybe use Liliana's ramp to dish out major damge with a volcanic geyser or rakdos return?

Interesting... ...something like this could work actually... ...but it's not complete yet... ...I really like the fact that Spotlight can assist Vraska's tokens.......

1st... ...Doom Blade could be a dead card at times, since mono-black devotion is one of the most popular decks in standard right now...

All you have here is board control & too much of it... ...you need to use stuff like Thoughtseize & Rakdos's Return (3-3 of each, or 3-2)... ...otherwise, you gonna' suffer against each & every control deck there is.......

So... ...I'd make so many changes, so I'll just make my version of this deck c post it right here soon... ...until than, good luck!..

I also have a Jund midrange-control deck already, tough it's not really creatureless... ...when you have so much board control, Desecration Demon is your guy... : http://www.mtgvault.com/poetmasterx/decks/consume-the-heroes/

I've been ment to say, that your mana base is highly off... ...4 land that could add green mana & 8 red ain't gonna' do it...
