The deck is built around the interaction between pathway arrows and deathtouch to shoot down all creatures on your opponents side of the field. The non deathtouch creatures are to be played late game to close the game out with the added bonus of having some utility in the early-ish game. Unlikely aid is primarily here to protect your creatures from shock effects and nature's spiral is here in case your artifact that the deck runs on gets destroyed.
