Deck Description

Legend has it that even the most twisted creation of the Phyrexians can retain a seed of sympathy, even love, if the original emotion is true and pure.

Once, long ago, a fair giant maiden held just this emotion for a mighty warrior of her tribe named Brion Stoutarm. For hours she would hide in the woods near the clearing where he trained, watching him hurl boulders and woodland animals with a grace and strength that kindled the maiden's passion every time. Finally, the shy giantess found the courage to enter Brion's clearing, and approach him as he bench-pressed an unwilling moose. But just then, as she opened her lips and Brion heard her sweet, deep voice, a strange force plucked her out of the world of Lorwyn and across the multiverse. When she came to her senses, she was in Mirrodin, caught in one of Memnarch's traps and doomed to live forever apart from her beloved.
Tragically, the maiden soon died at the hands of a Broodstar and its army of overpowered artifacts, but her tale was not yet done. Her half-decayed corpse was discovered by one of the first Phyrexian emissaries, who plucked her intact heart out of the ribcage and brought it to the lab where Sheoldred, the Whispering One, future Praetor of Phyrexian Mirrodin, was constructed muscle by muscle and bone by bone.

Legend also has it that one day, the heart that beats and clanks in Sheoldred's chest will lead its owner back to the plane of Lorwyn, where she will once again hide in the forests, weeping at her hideous form and performing horrific surgeries on her loved one as he sleeps.
