Deck Description

Modern aggro deck inspired by the blade cycle from Alara. The deck revolves around Esper Stormblade and Bant Sureblade as high power two drops. 31 cards in this deck are UW multicoloured. This also conveniently turns on Ephara, God of the Polis.

The 8 blades, 8 one drops and 4 Geist of Saint Traft are the core of the deck. I added Ardent Plea and Detention Sphere because they provide great devotion and utility. Cascading an Ardent Plea into a blade provides 4 devotion all in one go.

Geist of Saint Traft and Brimaz, King of Oreskos win games on their own, and both have great synergy with Ephara allowing you to draw cards just by attacking with them, or defending with Brimaz.

Finally, I added 2 Thistledown Liege for mass-team pump at instant speed. Its a card nobody will ever expect (because its right fully quite underpowered) while providing massive devotion at the same time.

How to Play

Its an aggro deck, not much else to say. Its a little heavy in the 3 drop slot and generally will make you slow if you open a hand with only that, but in general you should be pretty fast. The deck scales better towards late than Zoo because of Ephara drawing you cards, Figure of Destiny going big, Brimaz and Sureblade being good on defense, and Thistledown Liege giving you a big fat army.

As always, decks like these are historically weak to combo, so a sideboard will have to be built to combat this.
