Just one question...What is the point of playing Verdant Catacombs and Marsh flats in a mono color deck? Why not just play more swamps? Is it worth paying a life to go look for a swamp when it could just be a swamp?

It thins your deck cuz you play the marsh flats and then sacrifice it to search ou a swamp. Trust me it's woth it, this deck made the top eight.
In my opinion the eldrazi monument isn't very good in this deck. I mean, first of all you only have one so the chances of getting it are pretty low. and secondly it costs 5 mana when usually by then if your not fighting a control, your opponent is either dead or about to die. And if you are fighting a control, then getting it to go off is pretty hard. You should have vampire bites and feast of blood in this deck. Those are the two cards that make my vampires nearly unbeatable.
