Deck Description

hihi.
[extended decklist: i don't usually play standard]

the first thing i noticed about glissa was her potential for being in a very solid control deck.

the main hurdle is having a consistent way to get her on the table.... green sun's zenith fits the bill!

to make this tournament-worthy, you have to adapt the deck to be able to deal with a broader range of threats. most of this comes in from the sideboard and the main focus is creature-destruction (but this has always worked for sligh, white weenie and other strategies, so it's fine).

grim poppet is a massive late-game swinger. triggers glissa as well, and is recurrable, but be aware of the high casting cost. post-titan play only.

bloodghast is there purely as a renewable threat for 2 mana, without needing constant mana input. it's useful for keeping your opponent on the back foot and maybe forcing them to chump block on occasion.

capsule and ratchet bomb are obvious triggers for glissa as well as being very solid control cards.

behold. glissa control. coming to a table near you, soon.

final note: black sun's zenith ignores pro-black and indestructibility.... best removal EVER? yep.

uhm. it's an extended deck. why would i make it standard?

besides, standard is dull and expensive compared to other formats. it revolves far too much around 'money' cards.

i say, give it a try anyway. you may be surprised.

dude, grim poppet is a late-game tour-de-force in this deck.

he can redistribute counters from a black sun's zenith at instant speed. and he's recurrable through glissa.
