Deck Description

note: this is for extended:

one of the problems that i've had with weenie in the past is that you are still drawing 1 or 2 cost spells into the late game, and stalling decks can take advantage of your lack of late-game tempo.

there are 3 ways to address this problem.

1: include a sideswiping tactic, such as Quest for the holy relic and a sword

2: have a small number (say, 3) more expensive bombs for the deck to use in the late game

3: bolster the midrange capabilities of the deck, by adding cards such as hero of bladehold.

in addition, windbrisk heights and hero of bladehold are a legitimate tempo-combo.

Deck discussion for overblown weenie

you should go standard with it. you're only missing a couple cards. replace Elspeth with Elspeth Tirel. Spectral procession with white sun's zenith, and windbrisk heights.

while i appreciate that a lot of people hang on to standard feverishly, i don't share the same sentiment.

if i can legitimately use cards from a wider pool, i will... thus, extended is a brilliant format for me personally.

especially now that it is becoming more and more of a proper format for tournaments and the like.

simply put, no... i will not be making this a standard deck. extended is fine.
