Deck Description

Life can be difficult when you're the only one in your friend group who plays, or even really likes, control decks. More difficult for them, but still. Trying my hand at perhaps not the most original, but certainly effective lockdown deck, because [family website] you. Win by milling them to death while they have no permanents and/or cannot cast spells. The biggest problems that I'm seeing are creatures slipping through the net and killing me, or not having enough control to keep my win safe, or powerful aggro (especially with splashes of control)
My friends' favorite decks (advice on dealing with these appreciated):
* Mono white allies
* Koth burn

Deck discussion for Technically mill [help appreciated]

you dont seem to have a very effective way to kill people. I understand control, but i would suggest a few more creatures.

Kill from mill, thus the name. iso+silence/orim's, plus some counters, and they can't do anything at all for the rest of the gamem, not to mention if you get venser full. You use elixir to not mill yourself to death, and voila. If you wanted to you could almost definitely kill with abolishers, however.

i get it, but attempting to mill a deck without mill cards i dont think is a very sure fire idea. If you dont get the lock on them super fast they will be able to walk through you. not mention how many people play from graveyards these days. All i am saying is add in a few nasty little creatures that will be able to deal the damage while the opponent is locked down. My suggestion is Frost Titan, He has a high mana cost, but if you can keep them on lock until he comes out your fine.

I see where you're coming from, and if my friends were better deck builders/built to be competetive rather than for fun, I would probably do that. That said, as long as you can survive until lockdown you're probably fine. they can only play instants (put on the stack before silence resolves) for the rest of the game, and you'll be accumulating counters, and spellskites can steal targets.

Another thing: there are in fact a few competitive archetypes which mill without mill, in addition to this one I'm thinking of MUK decks off the top of my head.
