My first ever deck was the Elspeth deck in the Elspeth vs. Kiora set. I liked playing with soldiers and have worked on this deck ever since.
The main point of this deck is getting soldiers out, and then making them bigger, while not allowing your opponent to attack (Spear of Heliod and Unmake) you or even deal damage to you (Worship). It can be a very fast deck, as there are a lot of cheap cards that you can buff to make big enough to kill or it can be slower, allowing you to kill without much difficulty due to Odric, Master Tactician.It also allows you to get bigger soldiers out fast using Ballyrush Banneret and Preeminent Captain, and the Khalni Gem works extremely well to give mana, and it allows you to use 3 mana (Assuming you didn't play a land that turn) right after you play it.
