Deck Description

This is my take on the Extended deck that Jonathan Randle placed 8th with at a Worlds tournament in Chiba on 2010-12-12.

The main problem I have with his deck is the lack of card advantage, I substituted two Preordains for his lone Inquisition of Kozilek and lone Tectonic Edge. The sideboard, which I have almost entirely entact, is a complete gem which allows this deck to sideboard into a more traditional U/B Control deck with Ratchet Bomb, Wall of Tanglecord, and Wurmcoil Engine. Jace Beleren and Glen Elendra Archmage are great against control decks, and easily replace some of the mainboard control elements vs said decks.

This deck is very flexible, and can (as many faerie decks can) stay on the defensive for almost the entire game before quickly shifting into attack. The traditional banes of Faeries, Great Sable Stag and Volcanic Fallout, find themselves nearly useless after sideboarding. All in all, this is a powerful deck that I expect to see do well in future tourniments.

Note: In the United States this deck would be spelled "Fairies" and the above date would be 12/12/2010.

Deck discussion for Faeries

Tempo decks have always been very hard for me. Both to play against and to build. This one is pretty sweet despite my inner-loathing. =]

Thanks man. I wish I could say I designed this worldclass deck, but as I said, it isnt mine. I would like to thing that my modifications (including all the card draw) enhances the deck though.

Seems like it to me. I've been trying to learn how to do Tempo, but it's the last thing for me to "master", so to speak.

Maybe sometime in the future I'll make a Tempo deck...probably Faerie, since the thought of a bunch of frickin' tinkerbells kicking someone's ass is just endlessly amusing =]

By the way, have you ever played against a Tempo deck?

Dang man, that deck is nice! I personally hate playing tempo decks, but I played against this one at the tournament, and I knew I had to share it couz its just so epic. I took out his first Bitterblossom, but on the every next turn he played another. This deck just wrecks.
