Deck discussion for NO RUG

lol now you've got me trying to think of a better 4-drop...

Haven't thought of one yet =[

How does Scavenging Ooze perform in the deck? I was wondering about that dude...And do you use both Fire and Ice or just one of them?

Ooze is pretty cool. Dunno if he's worth keeping md though...

You choose one and pay for that one. So Fire costs 1R and Ice costs 1U. You don't get both if you pay UR though... It's a great utility card though.

I know that (I use Seek for cryin' out loud), I mean do you tend to only use one over the other, or do you find both of them helpful?

I find them both helpful. Fire kills x/1 or x/2 utility creatures like Bob, Cursecatcher, and SFM. Ice taps down enemy goyfs, KotR, etc. Both rather nice.

Yeah, it's one of the more versatile of the dual cards. I love Seek obviously, but Hide is...meh...

Are you thinking of swapping out the Ooze for another Goyf?

No, frankly I think that 2 Goyf is enough. If I was to drop Ooze I would likely look into another utility creature or upping Grim Lavamancer to a 2-of

I was wondering why my original list came up at 57 cards...

Yea, bolt is pretty cool. You don't like it?

Hmmm, interesting choices here. I'm interested by using Eternal Witness in NO RUG, it seems like it could be rather useful in some situations.

Meh, kinda. I've been thinking about dropping it to be honest, it is nice, but quite often I feel I would rather have something else. We are talking about Terastodon md on mtgs, which is definitely and interesting idea!

I almost always board in Terastodon second game, so I'd say it makes sense. It swings so much favor to your side of the game it's insane.

And I can see how Eternal Witness could wind up overly techy.

Moved Terastodon md. Also trying out Library instead of Ponder, and dropped Lightning Bolt. Thoughts?

Well, I can't quite agree with losing the bolts, as they provide so much use against so many decks. Everybody has utility creatures, or planeswalkers now, and lightning bolt kills those pretty dang well.

Sylvan Library is a nice bit of card filter, and it seems like it could replace ponder.
And the Terastodon MD is a smart move, as most of the time when piloting a NO RUG list everybody seems to find room for it game two.

I'll test it out. Not to thrilled with it either to be honest

looks very good.
i noticed after lots of testing of my NO show build, terastodon wasnt that great. i kept running into scenarios where i would want to NO into progenitus, but the one copy in my deck was already in my hand, so i would have to bring out terastodon... and EVERYTIME, he got doombladed, or swordsed, or removed one way or another and it left me sitting there with nothing. so yeah, id drop him, maybe sideboard material but really all your using him for is to kill things like ensaring bridge. might as well side krosan grip or something more reliable. do you really wanna waste your combo to destroy a bridge, only to have you opponent play go for the throat on your terastodon?

maybe you could help me on my build?

Have you considered Worldspine Wurm over Terastodon? Ive been playing him in my NO deck, and unless they Sword him, or remove him from the game he's hella good!
I agree with Bolt being main deck, if nothing else he shits on BOB.
Great deck!
