What does WW mean?

I think you need more equipments in there.

You also might want some Rampaging Baloths in this deck!!

Good luck!!

WW is white weenie. I thought about more equips, but IDK. I am getting them every game with all my fetching.

Pretty sweet, W/G weenie is looking like it's going to be one of those decks to beat this season.
Also, MBS is looking like it will have some interesting effects on weenie decks, living weapon with stoneforge is looking just plain NASTY.

You can say that again. My prediction is an aggro meta with a W base. WW Knights, WG, and Boros. The interesting thing is that UB will become UBr for burn, which reenforces the need to play white-based aggro.

I am still leaning towards W/B aggro-control, I'm just a fanboy for Juzam Djinn-esque cards, and Vatmother is the closest I can get in standard.

Also, I think BUG will get more popular than UBr, as a turn three Grave Titan is difficult to deal with usually.

i feel like Birds isn't needed here. Your fattie is the only card that you'd want to ramp for, and Birds will only consistently gain you one turn, if that. So I think you can drop them to get more Kor Outfitter and Stoneforge Mystic. Glint Hawk + Memnite is always a good combo though, and i like the syngergy with Vengvine. Great idea!

I think this deck will get even better once Besieged comes out and you have living weapons; Stoneforge can now search for creatures, and tutor them directly onto the battlefield; this makes casting Vengevine even easier!

I like the birds because 1) they fly, and 2) they allow more creature drops in the first few turns. I'll test your idea though.

Personally, i think that a Whispersilk Cloak would be devastating here; once you had a vengvine equipped with whispersilk, it's all over. I also feel like the deck needs a way to handle control in the MB... maybe Silence? And then definitely some Autumn's Veil in SB.

I'd also drop the Kor Outfitter and and Fauna Shaman; add in more equipment and Stoneforge Mystics. Playing 1 of a card is generally a bad, bad idea because unless you can tutor for them, you'll never see them, and if they get popped, you're SOL. I'm guessing you've got 1's because of your current cards; thats fine.

I love this deck idea though, and as the above says; it'll get exponentially better when Besieged Drops and you can have living weapons.

My problem with Whispersilk is it is expensive, both to play and to equip. I am able to tutor for the Outfitter and the Mystic, the Fauna Shaman you are suggesting I cut. Fauna Shaman also lets me dump Vengevines, which is much more cost-effective then casting them.

I actually do not plan on including any living weapons that I have seen so far. This is not an equipment deck, its a WW deck with Green splash with AA as a powerful win-con. There is a big difference.

Thanks :) I cant wait for MB to come out, the new sword is awesome. Not Fire and Ice level, but better than Light and Shadow IMO, especially due to the very relevant protections. Thrun is also a guy I'm hoping to include.

Walking pithing needle could be helpful, but thrun i think will be some really good aggro in your deck - an unstoppable 4/4?

Eh, I doubt the purging needle will be very good due to all the removal, and it's lack of synergy with... Everything. But yes, I am very excited about Thrun :)

Nice title but the Vengivines are just STUPID lol. Thrun is a cool card, I really like the trolls in mtg.
I like the idea of Quest for the Holy Relic and Vengevine, HUGE Vines attacking every turn would be crazy, never thought of it.
Could you check out my deck and help with it, I've been having problems with it :(

Wow! How did you discover this deck? I had forgotten all about it. I built this BEFORE MBS had any cards spoiled... Even with MBS, all this deck needs is pest and the new Sword... I had forgotten about my Hawks + Mystic idea completely.

Sure I'll check out your deck!

I have a quest deck myself (mono-white) so I know how awesome these things can be. The one thing I want to point out is that because you have to cast a creature spell to get a quest counter you don't actually get a counter for returning vengevine from your graveyard to play. also, if I were you I would replace the squadron hawks with kor skyfishers and take out two lands for another stoneforge mystic ad a sword of feast and famine, or body and mind, you know, whichever you like better.

0

I'm trying hawks for now, I might switch them out for Skyfishers. It really depends on which I want to be my primary and which I want to be my secondary strategy, something I have not really decided yet. Unfortunately my computer is broken (I am on my Ipod right now) and I mainly play on MWS, so I have not been able to do much testing outside of goldfishing.

You are dead on about the Stoneforges being a 4-of, the version of this deck you saw I built (and had not updated) before MBS came out.

Ah, yes, thank you for taking some of my advice. But the thing is, well, 4 kor outfitters is kind of helpful. So is Silence. You never know when somebody is going to go for your argentumed creatures throat. Well anyways thanks for listening to what I had to say.

Nowhere near enough creatures - splashing too heavily on birds of paradise, check out my GW Questvine, have gone 16-0 so far with it.

what do you mean not nearly enough creatures? I have 32! Birds of Paradise is a 1-drop that flies, its ramp is a bonus.

0
Posted 22 March 2011 at 06:01

Because you don't need mana ramp and it's an irrelevant 1-drop, Glint hawk and kor skyfisher give two quest tokens.

Very true. Glint comes back in for it.

Hey joe, i really love these decks, my only suggestions would be drop the 4 signal pests, and add 4 kor skyfisher(they really help speed up quest) and maybe cut 2 stoneforge and add 2 kor outfitters. Fauna can always fetch a stoneforge and when u crack a quest and equp the argentum and the equipped creature gets doom bladed u just have a useless equip chilling on ur field. kor outfitted actually won me a game last FNM well i hope these suggestions help! If you dont mind checking out my deck and making any suggestions i would really appreciate it! http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=164060

I don't mean to be mean, but it's not like you made this deck up. So good job hitting CTRL+C then CTRL+V.

Also, I think I saw this commented on above, but how do you not have the Kor Skyfisher in this deck??? He provides an extra counter to the quest just by entering the battlefield pretty much.

The netdecks are called GW Quest and Vengequest for those interested.

In addition to my criticism of you making a good deck worse, you don't need 4 Mystics when you have the Fauna Shaman. Plus you have better equipment fetchers in the Quests. This deck has been successful because it has added one-ofs that fit the metagame well like Linvala, Keeper of Silence and Baneslayer Angel or even Thrun, the Last Troll. Use Fauna Shaman's ability better.

Ok, I want to begin by saying I'm impressed you were so candid. Not something I see everyday. You are right about everything, except for two small details.
1) This deck was posted on Jan 18th, ie before GW Quest was any good, and certainly before it was popular.
2) I had not updated this deck in months.

That said, everything you say is true. I have made some changes and am thinking up other origonal tricks. What do you think of Training Drone in this deck? I am also considering Khemba, but I feel she is not as useful, since she wants lots of equipments, not 1. There are also a few other SoM cats worth considering I think.

Thank you very much. I'm afraid I have become more involved in legacy than Standard in the past month so I don't know the format as well as I once did.

Brass Squires, maybe? So you can equip quickly and cheaply when vengevine comes back into play.

Ehh, vengevine is kind of a bonus. AA on anyone should be game. Also, Quest can put it on him, so nothing lost there.

alot of comments, im not gonna go through them to see if anybody asked, but why in holy hell is a training drone in here? if i were you i would put another sword in. also consider squadron hawk, works great with quest and venge. other then that lookin solid.

Faunna Shaman lets me fetch cratures, so I'm experimenting with a singleton Training Drone. Why don't you like it?

0

"Why don't you like it?"

It seems like a much worse fetch than Vengevine and costs about the same. For experimental purposes I'd rather run a Brass Squire in that slot, or maybe a Piston Sledge or a Green Sun's Zenith.

I dont have a ton of G creatures, so GSZ is meh. Training Drone is not that good, but I'm glad I tested him. Reminded me how I should almostalways be tossing Venge for another T3-4 if I can afford to.
