Deck Description

A strange mix of HexDepths with the Rock. It's a moody deck, sometimes amazing and sometimes sucky.

Deck discussion for Rocking the Depths

I read KotR...then I read it again...Then I laughed. Tell me when this is done, I want to see the final product =]

Wow dude, this is really good. I really like the idea of playing HexDepths in Dirt, and Living Wish makes it all the more accessible.

Kudos for making HexDepths have potential again man

Thanks! Any ideas for changes?

Well I'd probably drop the Quarter for a third Wasteland, I mean I know it's great and all, but I've actually been thinking about dropping in it lands even. I realize you have a third from Living Wish, but having three in the deck in really helps in Dirt.

Other than that it's spot freaking on man, it's superb! That's even just a meta call!

I mean, yes there is always room for improvement, but to improve one line of play would require massive changes at this point.

This really is good man, but I think what I like the most about it is the landbase...it's just very smart =]

A little iffy on the one GFTT, but eh...I suppose it works =]

I'm glad you appreciate it :) I spent a fair amount of time making it perfect. Just trying out GftT for fun, I'll prolly switch it for a 4th StP.

Thoughts on the wishboard?

Hrm, tough call...Mayhaps a single Teeg? He stops a lot of the main things that'll give you trouble I think =]

Teeg, a royal pain in the ass of all who dare venture into the realms of storm, but he's never really been as problematic as Ethersworn Canonist. At least not for me anyway.

Why not use both? =P

I just really don't like Teeg without GSZ, as they can ramp and search under him, while they can only dig under a Canonist. Granted it hinders your ability to pump out threats, but it slows them down significantly more.

In a deck with a finisher that can down like this I'd say the trade-off significantly weighs to the favor of Canonist, as you really don't need to cast a whole lot of spells after a decent sized creature :D

I think i'll have to agree with SWN here. Sometimes I'll want ome, sometimes the other, so lots play both. WnB, you make a fine point, but I fear you are forgetting where these features are going: the wishboard.

MD: -1 Ghost Quarter, +1 Wasteland, -1 Windswept Heath, +1 Plains, -2 Sylvan Library, -1 Jitte, +3 Qasali Pridemage, -1 GftT, +1 Swords to Plowshares.
SB: +1 Gadfock Teeg, + 1 Ethersworn Canonist, -1 Krosan Grip, +1 Jitte, +3 Hymn to Torach.

At some point I forgot we had been discussing the wishboard, and was more thinking Maverick or Dark Horizons >_<

I like the changes you plan, should be very interesting to hear how this deck fares.

I figured. I'm looking forward to seeing how it fairs too, but right now I'm too busy with college apps and grinding for tourniments to devote much time to fun decks like this.

Hope you get into the college you need/want man, I know that whole ordeal is a pain.
