Deck Description

Eldrazi spawn deck. Once i get awakening zones stacked on each other and my Eldrazi monument out i have many indestructible blockers.

I have recently come back and edited this deck, attempting to make it play faster. No more super big Eldrazi, and i took out eldrazi conscription and added lightning bolt for a small amount of control/damage options.

Have a look at putting in Splinter Twin, attach it to Kozilek's Predator. Every turn you get an extra 2 eldrazi spawn just a thought.

Thats a pretty good idea. I could even attack it to Emrakul's Hatcher and get 3 spawn each turn. Thanks for the idea.

I'm not so sure I like this..You do not have enough creatures to put out at the beginning of the game to sustain yourself against a top notch deck. I have run into similiar problems with building an Eldrazi deck. Work on your mana curve, and adding more creatures..all of those eldrazi are not necessary

I know what you mean, i mainly play my friends vampire deck and its... to say the least, fast. But ive been suprised at just how much i can get out with this combo. And if he runs out of a hand too quickly then it doesnt matter what my life is at because he's sacrificing permanents every time i attack. Though i am thinking about putting in Artisan of Kozilek. That way if he kills a big guy i get it back.

Ive play tested it against many types of decks. As long as my creatures dont get nuked i do fine.

Why don't you have all is dust with it that betrays its a super end game move.

Kozilek should be run over Ulamog. While Ulamog is indestructable, Kozilek will be since monument will likely be out by the time Kozilek comes out and he lets you draw 4, which is amazing and usually much more useful than destroying a single perm. You'll need point destruction to make sure you don't die, so bolt is a must. Also keep in mind that eldrazi temple only taps for 2 for colorless eldrazi, so it really isn't that useful. I'd rather have color fixing, raging ravine for the beater and fixing, and crag.

I disagree about Kozilek, the draw four effect is of course good, but Ulamog can hit planeswalkers which depending on the meta you're playing in can be far more effective since the creature is usually big enough to win outright such that more cards aren't even necessary.

To the deck creator I say that spawning breath and growth spasm are worth consideration just because they pull out more spawn for cheap and can make brood birthing more potent early on.

Other than that Broodwarden and might of the masses were the cards in the set clearly aimed at making the spawn really effective. it might be expensive but Hellion Eruption sacks everything to put in a bunch of 4/4's this is great for winning, less so if you're trying to accelerate into a titan.

If you're looking out of set than echoing courage, strength in numbers and Dogpile would be my obvious choices for inclusions in any sort of token swarm deck.

The one major problem I find with Eldrazi decks is that a single Nausea or Tremor completely destroys it. Even an Eldrazi Monument can't stop Nausea or Echoing Decay from killing all the Eldrazi Spawn. If you're interested in Eldrazi decks, check out how I worked around the problem of trying to get Eldrazi out:

Monument stops Nausea, it gives +1/+1... and neither card is standard legal, so you don't need to worry about either since you wont be playing against them. I mean come on, Nausea was last printed in 8th and decay is from darksteel... that was a LONG time ago.

I'd be MUCH more worried about them being pulsed before the monument hits, or the monument being pulsed and then all of them... But if you're playing Jund and they have 6 mana and 2 pulses, you've lost... unless Emrakul is out, but then you've won anyway so who cares about the tokens.

doubling season could go with the awakening zones.
