I wanted to build a deck with the combo of Startled Awake/Persistent Nightmare, Ongoing Investigation, and Fleeting Memories. Erdwal Illuminator into Ongoing Investigation into Startled Awake into Persistent Nightmare into Fleeting Memories brings enough clues to mill one-third of the opponent's deck, on top of the 13 from Startled Awake. In the event milling won't work, all the creatures in this deck have evasion of some kind, making it only a matter of time until the opponent's life total hits zero.Suggestions are always welcome.
The core of this deck is the Startled Awake/Persistent Nightmare- Ongoing Investigation- Fleeting Memories combo to mill the opponent out. Erdwal Illuminator gives you an extra clue each turn while providing a flying body to either swing over the opponent's head or sit back and chump block. Benthic Infiltrator is straight-up unblockable, and has a built-in mill effect that sends a card to exile. Rogue's Passage makes an appearance both to provide colorless mana for Warping Wail and in case your opponent has a defense against fliers or 1/1 skulkers.The rest of the deck is control. Keep threats off the field, either by bouncing them or denying their right to exist in the first place.
