I perfer spreading seas over aquitect's will just because it a) always gives you another card (this one requires you to wait until turn 3 in order to get that card draw) and it can also remove any characteristics that the land already had. Play it on turn 3 vs a double color player (pretty easy to find) on the land that he has only one of to give him trouble.You can check out one of my two merfolk decks if you want to get some sort of inspiration. Another great card would be quicksilver fountain, since it can screw up the enemy mana pool and force him to not be able to play anything later on in the game.
