Deck Description

This deck is based around the combo of Spirit Bonds and two bouncing creatures such as Quickling, Faerie Impostor and Jesakai Barricade. You start off by playing a small creature, then Spirit Bonds, then bounce one-drop with a bounce creature and pay the one white mana for a spirit token. If you have 2 bounce creatures you can continue this instant speed activation whenever you have mana indefinitely.

Simic Manipulator and Cathars' Crusade supplement the creature enter the battlefield strategy.

This combo can be slow to get going and requires time to give much value. The defenders provide more time and also additional cheap one drops to bounce.

The best thing about this deck is that it should operate independently without its combos. Defenders like Perimeter Captain provide heaps of defensive value while evasive fliers can ping your opponent down.

How to Play

Defenders hold them off as this deck has a relatively slow start.
12 creatures (Faerie Impostor, Quickling and Jeskai Barricade to fuel the 8 engines (Spirit Bonds, Simic Manipulator)
If you can't get an engine going, tick your opponent down with fliers as you evade their attacks with your defenders.

Deck discussion for Incremental Imposters.

Have you thought about Coral Barrier? I always wanted to use that with the impostor and Quickling.

I did consider it. It would be nice but it doesn't give the same of value as other defenders or etb effects. For three mana I can get things like Mimeomancer and Manipulator. Good suggestion though and thanks for commenting though :)

This is also pretty tight already, not much I can do to improve while keeping the theme up. Consider this:

* I do not see the use in Aven Mimeomancer. This should either be a fat wall to by you more time
- Wall of Denial : One of the best walls out there and nasty with your Captain, however, Shroud means you can't bounce it
- Wall of Shards : This one can be bounced which conveniently resets the age counter of the cumulative upkeep!
OR with something that abuses bounce/come into play effects. For 3 mana we could get:
- AEther Adept which bounces, too, but can be used on opponent's creatures as well
- Aven Riftwatcher, which would give you massive amounts of life since it also triggers when it leaves play
- Blade Splicer
- Mentor of the Meek
- Reflektor Mage
OR a card that does both^^:
- Wall of Resurgence

* As much as I enjoy seeing people playing with oldschool cards like Ication Javelineer, I think he is outdated. Try Topplegeist instead.

* A Wakestone Gargoyle or two would allow you to attack with any defenders that you pumped via Crusade

* Is the sideboard a colletion of cards you consider adding or a true sideboard? If it is the latter, it should contain artifact and enchantment removal.

*Aven Mimeomancer has a multitude of uses and reasons to be in this deck.
1. It has great synergy with Icatian Javelineers. Together they can kill any creature an opponent controls and the Javelineer itself is a great creature to upgrade later in the game.
2. It is an efficient creature by itself. 3 power flier will do a large amount of damage to my opponent if not dealt with.
3. With Spirit Bonds, it can nullify the aggressive potential of any one of your opponents creatures as they will just have to trade with your token.
4. I do realise that there are many other decks that would have many more targets for Mimeomancer but the ability is a slow one and I feel I have enough uses.
5. I initally had Thunderclap Wyvern as my flier lord, but Mimeomancer should be able to give the same amounts of power boosting in just one extra turn. The feather counters help on Faerie Impostor, Quickling, Spirit Bond tokens, and Order of the Stars.
6. The effect of this card increases with each turn the game goes. This being a defender deck can hope to wait many extra turns.
7. While having weak toughness, I have defensive potential with Spirit Bonds and bouncing creatures.
8. Last and probably least, in extreme circumstances, Mimeomancer can help to steal any creature, such as one that have nice abilities but high toughness, provided you can get 3 counters on Simic Manipulator using at least one Jeskai Barricade.

*What do you mean when you say Icatian Javelineer is outdated? I love the early game control and aggression with Quickling or Faerie Impostor. While Topplegeist is nice, he doesn't really do that much and this deck will never see Delirium enabled.

*A Wakestone Gargoyle could work but the buffing is so efficient if I get a bounce combo going with Cathars' Crusade on the field that I think the few fliers and spirit tokens should be enough to do the job.

*The sideboard at the moment is a bit of a mix in between the two. I'll try and clean it up. What are your suggestions for enchantment or artifact removal in my colours?

Okay, I overlooked the interaction between Mimeomancer and the Javelineer. Makes more sense now. However, while it might be an efficient attacker, it has a toughness of just one and therefore dies if the opponent looks funny at it. And since this isn't an aggressive deck, I was under the impression that the creatures I suggested would fit better. With the Javelineer in mind I am so sure anymore.

My Disenchant of choice in blue/white decks usually is Dismantling Blow or Return to Dust, but this comes from the multiplayer perspective where you need extra cards and where the enemies use recursion engines.
