It can be competitive for kitchen table magic. I would replace Fanatic of Mogis for Akroan Crusader. With Coordinated Assault, Titan's Strength, and Triton Tactics, you'll get more vaule out of Akroan Crusader with Purphoros than FoM.
if anything run 2 gates and 2 more basic. Turn//Burn is a great card.
I played Izzet Blitz throughout RTR block and loved it. If you'd like to make this faster look into lower cost instant and sorcery spells. Shock, lightning bolt, essence scatter, syncopate, weapon surge, dynacharge, coordinated assault, triton tactics, teleportal. The Flamespeaker Adept doesnt really add anything to the board. She competes with snipe, cyclops and spell heart on the curve. Cyclops is also the only one to stand up to an Anger of the Gods. The guildgates are going to slow you down if anything and you want to be fast. YMMV

Zephyr Charge. 1U Enchantment. 1U: Target creature gains flying until end of turn. With Dismiss on the field, it's better than burn. Also with Dismiss on the field, Flames of the Firebrand is a better card than Volcanic Geyser. More Izzet Charms and Shocks. While Elite Arcanist is fun(I like him), he dies to removal quite nicely. An elctrickery for instance kills him and the exiled instant.
