[Block] 2-Drop Challenge

by Rocco on 22 May 2014

Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (15 cards)

Creatures (3)

Sorceries (5)

Instants (7)

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

How to Play

1. Play ordeals on heroic creatures.
2. "Steal" creatures with Artisan of Forms.
3. Gain a bunch of life.
4. Draw a bunch of cards.
5. ?????
6. Win game?

Notes:

- Equip Armory of Iroas on a Heroic creature who gets +1/+1 counters (Hero of Iroas or Phalanx Leader), then play one of the ordeals, & swing. There will be 3 counters total after the attack, and the Ordeal will get sacced the same turn it was played.

- Use the Scryfish and Temples to set up the draws from Ordeal of Thassa.

- Mana Confluence can potentially enable you to pay the ability costs of non-blue/white creatures.

- Nyx-Fleece Ram and Scryfish can become viable attackers using Armory of Iroas and/or the Ordeals.

- Once you've built a big hero, swing in along with Cavalry Pegasus or after playing Crypsis on it (to also make it even bigger in some cases) for that extra bit of reach.

- Artisan of Forms can become a copy of Nyx-Fleece Ram and Scryfish. Fun! (Counters are not copied, so copying your own heroes isn't an ideal play).

Deck discussion for [Block] 2-Drop Challenge

I like this deck Rocco.
The only thing is I'm not sure about Armory. It doesn't help you with the heroics. I'd replace it with either more instants (aerial maneuvre, battlewise valor) for more agression (you have only 12 cards that trigger your heroics) or with counterspells (nullify, stymied hopes, thassa's rebuff etc.).

Thanks for the suggestions. 4 Armories does look like a lot in retrospect. The Scryfish and rams also seem a little superfluous. I don't plan on building the deck; it was just a fun exercise.
