The second combo only works if you actually have lands left in your library which I doubt you have often. That's why I like the first combo :P Good deck.

Zuran Orb is easier to play colour wise than Overgrown estate, it is also cheaper though the life gain is only 2/land, but when you multiply that by infinity you get about the same number as if it were 3.
Touche, good sir. In that case, I'm gonna drop white (the most expensive color in the deck money-wise) and add Conspiracy (to turn all my creatures into plants) and maybe splash some red for burn and Valakut.
If you go the path of red might I suggest countryside crusher which would work most wonderfully with your zuran orb.
