Deck Description

I decided I didn't like how my Phantom deck was playing, so I pulled a bunch of cards from other decks to test this one out:

The Phantoms and Sekki, Seasons' Guide prevent damage by removing +1/+1 counters. The errata for the Phantoms says that the damage prevention shield is still there even if there are no counters on the creature. I figured that because the text is the same, that goes for Sekki as well. Anywho, play some spirits and a Coat of Arms in order to make sure your dudes don't take damage. Entangler provides a rediculous defense, and Akroma's Memorial + Coat of Arms is a show stopper.

The other spirits are for Coat fodder, as well as support. Drover and Oyobi put spirit tokens into play, Patron ensures that your guys are untapped each turn, and Kodama brings guys back from the grave (and is HUGE nasty with Coat of Arms).

I realize that many decks will destroy this, such as destruction and removal, so please keep in mind that this is a casual deck and that I know my friends' decks and play style inside and out.

Deck discussion for Phantom Brigade

You have 21 creatures that cost 5 or more // 14 of those cost 7 or more,on top of that there are 3 7 costing and 3 5 costing artifacts. i dont think you really need that many win conditions, if you draw 4-5 of them early you are very much hosed.

if you take out 1 of each creature you will be able to go to a standard 60 card deck which should get you a bit better consistency. if you take out another couple of the really big creatures you can stick in a playset of signets or some other mana producers to help you get to your 5-7 drops. this would still leave you with about 11creatures out of 60 that are huge.

even if you dont do any of this though you probably still dont want 4 of a 8 drop legend, by the time you can play him you will probably have at least 2-3 in your hand.

I took that quote from the end of the summary. Thanks for playing.

he doesn't play with the legend rule. just to let you know cynoid. : ) so he's safe there. i think the deck is clever and creative! +1 just going off what cynoid said, you could take stuff out to make it more efficient and w/e, but if you are just playing for fun and against your friends (which you are, as you stated), then its fine! the more chances of drawing the cards that make the game more fun in a deck thats suppose to be fun in that case, in my opinion, is a better route. : ) hope this one works better for you than your last nantuko deck. also about WS- did you download the gamepack? you need that.

Even if I did play with the legend rule, what's soooo bad about having a copy of a legend in your hand? Any time there is a card in your hand, your opponent has to try and figure out what it might be and take it into consideration. Is it a Fog? A Giant Growth? It forces mistakes. And what Happens when your star player gets destroyed or removed? So stop flipping out over drawing legends.

And yes, hipponox, it worked out far better. The only damage I took in the first couple games was around 3-4 in the first 3 turns. Turn 4, I played entangler on Phantom Nantuko and was nearly untouchable.
