How to Play

you summon the toughtpicker witch and the ogre slum lord and the skirsdag high priest and the infectous host you pay 1 then sacrafice the infectious host and deal 2 damage to the oponent because of the abillity of infectious host then look at the top 2 cards of the opponents library exile 1 and put 1 back that is from the ability of thought picker witch then the sacrifice triggers 2 things the ogre slumlord and the skirsdag high priest you get a 1/1 rat from ogre slumlord and the morbid abillity from skirsdag high priest allows you to tap the rat the ogre slumlord and skirsdag high priest for a 5/5 demon but you cannot do it the first turn skirsdag high priest enters the battle field but then you can do it every turn after that aslong as you have enough creatures and a creature dies.

Deck discussion for 5/5 demon combo

What about swapping Duress for Thoughtseize, because here comes thoughtseize oops you lost them! In the words of Chapin! Maybe a swap between the numbers of Gatekeeper and Infectious Host? Hope this helps!

Nice deck. I only got two things to suggest, that you swap infectious host for some blistergrub, cuz it's a 2/2 for the same cmc, has swampwalk and when it dies EACH opponent loses 2 life. And that you take away disembowel cuz it's a terrible removal, add something stable instead like murder.

I don't think it works quite like you think. When you get the rat, you can't tap it immediately, you have to wait a turn for summoning sickness to ware off.

Weird rules loophole. A creature can not tap itself while summoning sick. However other creatures activated abilities can tap it.
In English you can't tap llanowar elf for mana but skirsdag high priest can tap two summoning sick creatures. (He must not be summoning sick however)

ok, that's not the way i understood it. It sounded to me, when i read the rules, that creatures cannot tap to attack or tap as COSTS for spells/abilities (ability costs come before the : in the text. I.E. G:do stuff. or T: do stuff. or Tap a creature you control: do stuff) while the creature has summoning sickness. however, a spell or ability that forces a creature to tap (like twiddle) can still make it tap.

Trollking is correct. The creature cannot tap itself to its own 'tap' cost symbol (like Llanowar elves) but it can tapped to pay the cost of an ability. Catapult Master, for example, can tap itself to its own ability the turn it enters the battlefield.

An extension of this is animated basic land. Because land has the 'tap, add mana' ability, if you play a land card, then turn it in to a creature the same turn, you will not be able to use it's mana ability once it is a creature, because as soon as it is animated, it will be a creature suffering from summoning sickness. Dryad Arbor is an example of this rolled in to one card.

This is an easy rules point to miss out on when you're first starting out.

In this deck, the priest cannot use its ability the turn it enters the battlefield unless it is given haste, because of summoning sickness. However, when he uses his ability, he can tap any two creatures you control, whether or not they entered the battlefield under your control this turn, because they are not paying a cost with their own 'tap' symbol.

If you don't believe, check the Gatherer rulings.

The only problem I can see with the deck is that if you run out of sac material, then your engine runs dry, even if you have gained a few demons in the process, any deck with half decent kill spells or burn will chew through them. A good card for getting your sac fodder back is Gravepurge, you can use it to bring back any number of creatures, and you get to draw one of them immediately. Personally, I would remove disembowel, as you have plenty of kill spells as it is and that one is neither cheap(if your using it for anything worthwhile) nor does it gain you life. Hope this helps, good luck!
