Deck Description

My first attempt at making Vintage/Legacy based around Dark Depths and Vampire Hexmage. This also uses the first turn tin scenario of other decks that I've seen

How to Play

Turn 1: Dark Depths
Turn 2: Swamp, Dark Ritual --> Vampire Hexmage. Sac Hexmage for Dark Depths. Exile Simian Spirit Guide for Messenger's Speed. Win
OR
Turn 1: Swamp, 2 Dark Ritual. Exile Simian Spirit Guide for Legion Loyalist/Raging Goblin. Play Hatred and pay 19 life. Win

Love the idea of the deck - and everyone loves a turn 2 hasty 20/20!
The issue with the Hatred win-con is that the text has been oracle-d to "As an additional cost, pay X life", so if they have a counterspell (Force, etc) it will leave you on 1 life and in a format like Legacy/Vintage when there are Lightning Bolts, Deathrite Shamans, Monastery Swiftspears, Forked Bolts, Grim Lavamancers or even Vapor Snags in some tempo lists, the second win-con also becomes second turn loss on some match-ups

Have you ever played Infect? And not most secks that people post. I mean a tourney, modern infect. If you don't win in 5 turns then you loose anyway.

All I was saying that in LEGACY (which this deck is, not modern legal), being on one life on your turn (or 3 if we're honest with Bolts) is a risky tactic.

Yeah been playing eternal formats for a while now :/ but there is a reason infect isn't top of every top 8 - it is not consistently winning in less than three to five turns.

Pact of negation would work to counter it, if you get stuck in that type of situation...
