Deck Description

Fast, powerful, deadly creatures and some awesome Gatecrash charms and removal make this deck possible. With an appropriate opening hand this deck is wicked fast. A turn two Smiter, turn 3 Thragtusk, or even a turn 5 Borborygmos Enraged are not outside the realm of possibility. Gruul Smash!!!

How to Play

Put out powerful creatures, deal tons of damage. That's pretty much all there is to it.

The best deck idea me and my friends came up with for a deck built around Borborygmos was to make it a reanimater deck. You'll end up pitching several lands to the grave before reaching your reanimate target. then play Creeping Renissance to return all lands from your grave to your hand a basically discard a ton all at once for an instant kill. Just an idea for that one card specifically, but it is a different deck entirely.

i think u should drop the firemane avengers. with that u could add 1 thragtusk and another lotus. that will make the curve a little higher but it shouldnt be much of a problem because u have a lot of ramp. but, if u dont want to do that, i would say u could replace the avenger with huntmaster of the fells. as for the lands... the way this deck is built i dont see wolf run getting much use. if this was my deck i would run, 3 of each shockland, 3 each of the pre-rtr dual lands, and 2 basics for each color (2 forests, 2 plains, 2 mountains) with wolf run not being a desperate must have it'll just provide a colorless mana so thats y i think it should go. however if u think it needs to stay, try something like 3 of each shockland and 4 of each regular dual land and 2 wolf runs. that should clear up your mana base a little, thus making your mulligans easier to deal with.

I appreciate your suggestions. I currently only have one copy of thragtusk so if i acquire another one it will be added in. I've tried this deck with varying numbers of gilded lotus, and when I run two I usually end up with a whole lot of mana and nothing to cast with it. Burning-tree emissary really helps with the mana fixing and I'm running four of each shock land, because they are searchable with farseek. I did consider taking out the firemane avengers, its battalion is just too helpful late game for regaining life to justify removing it. I'll proxy a couple games with some huntmasters and see how that goes. Thanks again for the advice!
