Deck Description

Semi competitive Uril commander deck.
It's not meant for 1v1 even though it's probably good enough for it, when it comes to competitive 1v1 it's not fast enough as it doesn't contain enough mana ramp.

My friends play quite a competitive "casual" scene, hence the power level of some of the cards.

Deck discussion for [EDH] Uril

Artifacts? In an enchantment deck? Blashphemy!

Soul's Majesty is absurd in Uril. Since he has hexproof it can't be countered by removing the target, so the only way to deal with it is an counterspell, and it often times draws ten cards.

Thanks for that one, don't understand how I missed it!
And indeed, the blasphemy I've commited is atrocious. :D

Currently looking for some enchantments that provide the same benefits as land destructions is pretty taboo in my playgroup some big land enchantments could do the trick!

In my artifact-less Sigarda enchatnress deck I'm running Dawn's Reflection, Fertile Ground, Frontier Siege, Overgrowth, and Wild Growth as ramp, Mana Reflection and Mirari's Wake as mana doublers, Bear Umbra as a land untapper, and Earthcraft and Cryptolith Rite as ways to let my dudes tap for mana since it's not like I'm going to be attacking or blocking with a Mesa Enchantress very often :)

There's also Elemental Resonance but I'm not using it at the moment. It's great when you can drop it onto some big beater.

Thanks for that list, I've added them to my "maybe-board" ;)
I cut back on all the ramp as it made the deck simply too fast for a "kitchen table game".

I made some adjustments based partially on your feedback and on some RL feedback. Also cut down the artifact heresy down to just 1 ;)

I'm still updating this list quite often so it'll keep getting hit with some minor changes based on the feedback I'm getting. I also need to fit in a wasteland somewhere.....

Strip Mine is cheaper than Wasteland and is strictly better on top of it.

Yeah I know ;)
Sad fact is though that my playgroup is very, VERY against land destruction in general.
Wasteland is basically agreed upon as the only 1 for 1 land destruction that can be run as a 1 off in each casual deck :P

Strip is just a 1 for 1, too. I mean, I guess you could also use it to kill someone's basic to color deprive them, but I prefer to just save $30 dollars and trust myself to not be a dickhead with it :) Most of my friends run Strip, and I don't think I've ever seen them used for anything but Maze of Ith, Cabal Coffers, Nykthos, Valakut, etc.

Yeah very true, I agree completely. I think it's just the "idea" that you have a land that "could in theory" hit their basic land "if you so choose" is something they care about too much =p (I'm making my playgroup sound far less relaxed than they really are LOL)

Side note: I checked out your Zada deck.. Absolutely love it :P

p.s. We play legacy, so wastelands are not in short supply. Strip mine is a card I don't think any of us actually own either :P
