On the plus side, Peer Through Depths has actually felt kinda playable. I could see it working well in a controlly mystical teachings-type deck as a psuedo-tutor. An idea for another day.

I built it with the kiln fiends and a remodeled mana base. It feels pretty bad, unfortunately. It play like a really bad burn deck most of the time.
I haven't put it together yet, but I'm looking forward to trying it soon. Did you find that Splicing was a useful mechanic? I was hoping that splicing glacial Ray could be a big game, which is why I wanted the boiler works to make extra mana. Could just be too clunky though. Kiln fiend is definitely a possibility though.
I dig this a lot. I've been toying with idea of a cinder pyromancer deck in pauper for a while, but haven't found one that looked good. It's super awkward that you need the skyshroud elf to color fix, though. A necessary evil, I guess.
Not a bad idea. I think I'll add them as sideboard options, especially against really interactive decks (granted, that's most of them). The downside is obviously that they don't draw a card, which I think means you can't quite main deck them. I'm pretty new at this, so that's just my opinion, not entirely sure either way.
Whoops, you're right. I'll have to pick a replacement
