I like the idea!

If we just want to get the combo on occasion, then maybe we could take out a myr and a metamorph?

Or, if we want it to be more consistent - we could probably just swap myr for solemn. Might even consider going with 4 Tezz and running perilous myr instead of treasure mage. That way, we just use tezz and ponder to get our artifacts?

Hmm... Maybe use geist instead of blight mamba...

Buried Ruin would work well here. I'd also use Pristine Talisman instead of war report.

Phyrexian Core comes to mind here too. Good way to sac one of your creatures and gain life when your opponent tries to kill it.

I'll edit the description so it's more clear about the allure.

Ya, I like geist as well. I was considering it instead of the emmisary - but i thought the emissary would be a bbeter choice as it can help me get more forests for the elder. Who knows, that's just where i started.

And as far as the allure - ya I know it's not lure - so it wont draw all in at once. Might be interesting to toss in 2 lure just for fun though!

Oooo... Rakish Heir + Curse of the Stalked Prey... Nice!

Let me know what you think about this counter incrementing deck:

Oh, and cryptoplasm! This is an inexpensive rare that can copy any of your creatures or theirs!

I dont play control very much - it's just not my style. I usually play aggro or combo based decks. So my experice here is mostly from the other side of the table.

But, I see a lot of people playing mana leak and think twice together. If you save back the 2 land for the leak during your opponent's turn and don't end up using it - think twice instead. It's efficient mana use and card advantage at the same time!

Also, I'm pretty sure these are all commons and may fit what you're doing here:

Stonehorn Dignitary
Disperse
Tumble Magnet
Gideon's Lawkeeper

I ran some more draws and I'm not sure I like it.

It seems to be inconsistent, both with land and cards for the combo.

I may end up removing a lot of the green and just running the 4 woodland cemetary for the flashback on the deadly allure.

I ran a few draws and would like to see a more consistent mana generator for the 1 drop slot.

So, I'm also doing this:

-4 Sphere of the suns
+4 Birds of Paradise

I must have missed something.

How can you cast Blazing Shoal without the 2 red mana in your second step 2?

Don't you need a Black Lotus too?

And if you're just sacrificing any card, blightsteel colossus cost 12.

I've been looking around at Red / White decks. hoping to get some ideas.

Your deck reminds me a lot of this one:

But, to answer your question - add a planeswalker that can generate tokens such as Sorin or Elspeth.

Or, since you're not using honor of the pure - shrine of loyal legions.

Just for the wolf run rright now. I was thinking I'd use ancient grudge instead of naturalize too.

Making some deck changes...

I'm trying to go for a more agressive, quick kill approach. I'm also expecting to see more quick aggro decks like delver & tokens.

I really like the creativity here. However, if you'd like my honest opinion here goes...

1. There are too many creatures and not enough spells. There is so much creature removal available, that board sweeps, etc make it very difficult to win with aggro - only.

2. While the doomslayer is a nice card, and I like what you're doing with it - it seems out of place and maybe a fragile addition. I think there are easier ways to accomplish a similar result.

3. Blood seeker is also a little out of place for me. Fume spitter might be a better choice as you can activte mobid and kill at the same time. Probably reduce count from 4 to 2 if you keep a creature in this slot.

4. I really like all the other vamps you have here. Also, the keeper / priest combo looks like it can be very effective. I have those cards and have been salivating at the opportunity to use them. Just haven't done it yet.

5. Rely less on the +1 for the aritocrat. It's already pretty sweet with flying / haste. But, prob wont survive long enough to really get nasty. Probably want to run 2 at most. I prob use her as a "surprise" swing.

6. Fill in the reamining slots with burn, board control, card draw, card-advantage, "surpise cards", etc.

For example:
A. Altars reap... Sac a token and draw 2 cards, then activate morbid & make a demon token with preist. Seems pretty nice. Maybe add 2.

B. Lingering Souls.... Who cares if they are spirits. This is exellent fodder for preist / reap / chump block while we setup / etc. Depending on how much you want to rely on this, add 2-4

C. BURN. Playing red, might as well !!! Arc Trail, Incinerate, Brimstone Volley, and Volt Charge are awesome. Volley might be good since you are activating morbid. Volt Carge is better if you are relying more on adding counters. I like to have about 4-6 burn in most of my multi-color red decks. Usually want to pick the ones that fit the mana curve and deck concepts the best. Red suns zenith is pretty good right now because it exiles - gets rid of undying creatures !!

D. Sneaky stuff. Nighbird's clutches?

E. Card advantage. Despise?

Hope this helps.

Interesting. Never thought of that.

I was counting on ancient grudge and naturalize. But, I'm not really clear on how the stack and priority would work there. I was thinking when they try to activate the ratchet bomb, I can respond with ancient grudge and since the stack plays backwards - ancient grudge would hit first.
