Homicidal

Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (0 cards)

No sideboard found.

The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

Homicidal seclusion is the nuts in limited. It can singehandedly (literally, only one creature) win you games that would have otherwise been a heavy loss.

I have a feeling it would be great in Constructed as well if you could keep it on. There in lies the challenge.

That being said, I wish I would have thought of this earlier. Between Glint Hawk Idol, Chimeric Mass, Inkmoth Nexus, and Gideon Jura, you can be selective about how many creatures you have at any given time. Plus, you have the added benefit of being resilient to sweepers and other sorcery speed removal.

Nighthawks are in as great blockers that trade for pretty much anything and can buy you some time. Lingering souls serves as a defensive spell. It turns off Seclusion, but you should be able to chump block down to nothing fairly quick.

I plan to test this while everything is still legal, since it's only a deck while Scars is still legal.

Will report back if there is any interest.

Until then, comments are welcome, especially concerning a sideboard. I have no idea.

Deck discussion for Homicidal

I was actually thinking of making a deck like this. some cards that might help, safe passage, predator's gambit, midnight haunting (just in case), bone splinters, rain of blades, show of valor, angelic benediction, erase and faith's reward. hope this helps.

Thanks for the input. I didn't add cards like safe passage because for the most part, a well place doom blade will do much the same thing. I'll probably put it in the board though for super aggressive decks. Predator's Gambit is sweet, but was not included because I only have 4 creatures that actually stay creatures. If I put it on Gideon or a Glint Hawk Idol, it falls off at the end of the turn. Same goes for Angelic Benediction. I have Lingering Soul's, so Midnight haunting is largely unnecessary. It has the added benefit of being an instant, but lingering souls has so much more resilience and reach. Bone Splinters isn't really the way the deck runs, since I need my creatures. It also ends up being just as mana intensive as DB or GftT since I would have to activate most of my creatures to use it. For this deck, Angelic Benediction is just a worse Homicidal Seclusion. Erase is a definite sideboard card, and Faith's Reward is not for this type of deck.

I hope this helps explain some of what I included and some of what I didn't.

Took your deck and tuned it to what I had on hand and while I haven't had a chance to play it yet, I'm looking forward to it.

-2 Gideon Jura (Don't have any and am dubious about getting any so close to rotation)

-4 Inkmoth Nexus (Same as above)

-1 Terminus (The inclusion of Lich makes this card worse)

-4 Isolated Chapel (Don't have any and I've got other dual lands on my list to get first. I do plan on getting a playset once I've filled out my other decks)

+4 Phylactery Lich (I know he is pretty terrible but I got a playset of him out of the pre-release and release events and this deck is the only one that has that critical mass of artifacts that might make him less terrible. 5/5 for BBB that might turn into a 8/6 lifelink and take it out of dismember range is not a bad theory on paper.)

+4 Trading Post (Another card I got 4 of and wanted to play with, it also seems to interact well with wanting to have precise control of your creatures on table. It also allows you to manage your hand and has good synergy with all your artifacts.)

+1-4 Buried Ruin (Have them, have lots of artifacts and a sac outlet for them. It's a thought. Might just be a sideboard card. Need to test it mainboard as a replacement for the Isolated Chapels with 9 plains and 11 swamps.)

Currently have 65 and have yet to decide the cuts/sideboarded cards.

Might be running less than 4 Trading Posts, might be moving Lingering Souls to the sideboard although I am less thrilled with that idea. Maybe moving around O-rings or removal but also not sure about that.

Otherwise, I have yet to construct the rest of the sideboard.

Thinking about it some more, the new Ajani seems like it would be interesting in this type of deck as well.
The counters would not fall off of Glint Hawk Idol or Chimeric Mass (...right?) and double strike on a Homicidal Seclusion buffed creature seems like it would be nice.
