No sideboard found.

The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

A sort of "anti-black" deck that centers around Painter's Servant and Iona, Shield of Emeria or Lifeforce to lock the opponent down.

How to Play

Get Painter's Servant out as soon as possible. He's what makes the deck work. There's a playset of him in here, and you can find them faster by using Enlightened Tutor to search for it or by drawing more cards with Sylvan Library (which can also be grabbed by Enlightened Tutor).

Once he's out, you have several ways you can go with the deck. You can take the quick and easy win with Grindstone, counter all their cards with Lifeforce, or hard-lock them with Iona, Shield of Emeria. Of course, if you want to win with damage, you can do that too, with Mirran Crusaders or any creature you give swords to (the crusaders can pack a punch if given the swords, and Iona or the Birds can be evasive beaters with them).

That's pretty much all there is to the deck, so let me know what you think of it or any suggestions you may have! Thanks for checking the list out!

Deck discussion for Paint it Black

looks like a lot of fun, Lifeforce is a pretty neat card with the deck. However since grindstone is part of a win condition it may work better to up it to 3 or 4.

Here is a deck i built a while back with the same plan except it is more small creature based.
