I'd consider adding more equipment (Barbed Battlegear) in instead of some of your creatures. Also, you can really save on equip costs if you can get a few Puresteel Paladins.
You may consider replacing Asceticism with something cheaper, like Steely Resolve. A few more limitations, but at less than half the mana it's worth it.
You might consider taking out black (only 8 occurrences in your whole deck). Also, there are some other good thallids to accelerate your game (Psychotrope Thallid to draw, shelldweller-thallid and plain thallid to more quickly get sap production out)
maybe add doubling season... double your # of spawn.
Very nice, though I find killing your opponent with one huge fireball a little inelegant. ( I prefer masses of huge creatures myself) However, I can't say that this wouldn't work, or that I don't admire your mana-gain strat :)
