Deck Description

1.0 relied too heavily upon spells that functioned only to destroy artifacts. The deck fell apart if there were no Liquimetal Coating's in play.

2.0 wasn't cohesive enough. It tried to maintain artifact control while playing aggressively with Spikeshot Elder and Goblin Gaveleer. While they are both fantastic cards, the equipment were too heavy to be considered aggressive.

3.0 returns to the basics, utilizing creatures that can destroy artifacts if Liquimetal Coating is in play, or just function as creatures if not.

I play tested three times today. First round loss (bad shuffle, a problem I always have after constructing a deck).

Second round the opponent had only two lands for the first five turns, and I destroyed one of each on turn 4 and turn 5 (Liquimetal + Shatter, Liquimetal + Oxida Scrapmelter). Without the ability to cast anything CMC 3+ for the entire game, I won without needing Molder Beast or Hoard-Smelter on the table.

Third round was more competitive, but I took the game after turn seven when I dropped a Hoard-Smelter.

Overall, the deck is worthy for casual play, and performs much more consistently than the previous two versions.

Deck discussion for Helter Smelter 3.0

I like it so far. -always been a fan of budget deck building-

The only thing I would suggest is maybe some sort of draw spell that doesn't rely on having artifacts being destroyed. That way you can draw out the Liquidmetal Coating you'll need.

Any reason for avoiding the synergy with Metalcraft? While I know you're going to be sacrificing your own artifacts in addition to attacking your opponents, it would seem like with 21 available artifacts, you can have the Metalcraft option available to you. Some considerations I can think of:

1. Maybe some Galvanic Blasts in your SB as some added burn?
2. Ancient Stirrings will let you so search for colorless cards(includes land), that way you can get Liquimetals quickly.

Overall, I think the deck is a fantastic idea!
