Deck Description

Deck designed to have fun with Knowledge Pool (MBS card) in multi-player games.

+4x Knowledge Pool (brings deck to 60 cards)
EDIT: Added 4x Sheep Tokens to proxy as Knowledge Pool so sample hands can be drawn.

Capable of winning, but more or less just intends to mess with the game.

Use Master Transmuter (bouncing Memnite, Ornithopter, or Seat of the Synod) to drop the Knowledge Pool and immediately follow up with Memnite, Ornithopter, or Preordain to cast the best of the cards exiled by Knowledge Pool. Taking advantage of all the love and fun this card brings to the game, without breaking it.

Also, Etched Champion + Tower of the Magistrate = Awesome!

INFO::
Knowledge Pool (6)
Artifact

Imprint - When Knowledge Pool enters the battlefield, each player exiles the top three cards of his or her library.

Whenever a player casts a spell from his or her hand, that player exiles it. If the player does, he or she may cast another nonland card exiled with Knowledge Pool without paying that card's mana cost.

what if you exiled 3 land with knowledge pool?

Scrying will help with that on my end. Lantern of Insight will help with opponent's decks a little bit. I'm sure there are better ways to abuse Pool of Knowledge (cards that stack your library), but this is for multi-player fun. With at least 4 players every game, that's a pool of 12 cards. Then, if an opponent want to cast something, they have to swap a card out from their hand to do so. This could completely shut down an opponent's game, or just turn the whole game completely wonky. The latter is more-so what I am aiming for, here.

as soon as I read knowledge pool online, I thought it was a nifty little card. but in all honesty, I think it's more of a dick around than a benifit. lol.

i can see how using small 0 drops to use your oppnents spells would be useful, but what if they have to useful cards? :O

knowledge pool is a real brainteaser. now, if someone want's to play something to win, you have the option of stealing it.

if i were to use knowledge pool at all, i'd use it in the sense that i know I could steal my opponents spells. i'd abuse leyline of anticipation, and abuseeeeee the hell out of that shimmer myr, giving all artifacts flash. so the moment they put something into the pool, before they can cast a little spell, flash your artifacts and steal their stuff. :D

also, i'd use selective memories to make sure nothing juicy is left in my deck. i'd control the board, then when everything is in my favor, drop knowledge pool, so it slows them down (:

knowledge pool is ify, but i like the deck concept, man. nice (:

Oh! I meant to add in Leyline of Anticipation. Honestly, I've never owned a Leyline, so I keep forgetting about them >.> The question I've been trying to weigh out is Leyline vs Shimmer Myr. Leyline will allow for a first turn drop, but will be more difficult to manage after Knowledge Pool is in play. Shimmer Myr would possibly stall me for a turn if hard-casting, but can also be cheated onto the Battlefield after Knowledge Pool is in play. Entire idea is to cheat in my good cards with Master Transmuter, and donate my junk cards to the Knowledge Pool Exchange Consortium (ltd).

And I never said I expected to win against your Shape-a-Blightsteel-Colossus deck with this, just that I'd enjoy running the decks against each other :P You're right, this is very much a dick around deck. With the potential for a 4th turn Knowledge Pool, it's really made to mess up combo decks, or have fun in multi-player.

well you could down right steal blightsteel, which would suckkkkk so bad, lol. but man this deck could. if knowledge pool hits, i'm shagged. xD

but i'd add 2 leyline, 2 shimmer. just for good measure. ^.^

I thought of that, but in the end I decided all or nothing. I'd rather have the 4x Leylines for the possibility of opening with them, or none at all. Only benefit Leyline has in this deck is opening with it, otherwise hardcasting it disrupts the all important 4th turn drop. I might still change my mind though. Leyline has the benefit of being immune to artifact and creature removal, while Shimmer Myr has the benefit of dropping 5th turn via Transmuter.

yeah, it makes sense. but i really do dig the idea of basically getting a possible wurmcoil for a memnite or ornithopter. that'd be so nasty, lol.

and btw what cards did you take out for leyline? because the deck count is 60 + 4 pools

Oh, no. Pools are included. They are the Sheep Tokens (added for sample hands). I dropped 1 of everything that is currently a 3x of. Augury Owl, Master of Etherium, Ornithopter, and Lantern of Insight.

ahhh I see, nice nice. when MB actually drops I think you'll find many ways through playtesting to abuse the heck out of knowledge pool. i would loveeee to see you with a shimmer myr out, 6 land untapped, then as someone casts an emrakul, flash a knowledge pool, then flash an ornithopter.

the look on your opponents face would be pricelesssss.

:O That would be sick, but Knowledge Pool is triggered when a player casts a spell from their hand. If Emrakul is on the stack, he was already cast, and therefore would not trigger Knowledge Pool.

but if you drop a knowledge pool at instant speed, wouldn't it go on the stack first? D:

if not, then thats lameee. but it'd be so nice if it could work out xD

It would go onto the stack second, and resolve first. But casting a spell is the act of paying it's costs, and moving it from your hand onto the stack.

Edit: So in order to respond to Emrakul, it would already have to be on the stack.

ouchhh. well on the plus side, knowledge pool will completely shut down eldrazi decks. lol.

It actually shuts down a lot of decks :) Once it hits the field, opponents can't do anything they planned without playing my little game first. Well, I shouldn't say shut down, if the opp already has greater table presence than I do and crap cards are top decked, it's moot.

well the biggest problem would be someone being smart enough to see the ways around it. if they want to drop say a grave titan, all they need to do is keep 1 mana open for an instant to replace it. butttt thats where flash comes in immense handy.

I'll have to freshen up on how priority works. I'm pretty sure that once a player casts a spell or activates an ability, priority is past clockwise around the table, and each other player has the opportunity to respond, before the initial player can cast another spell or activate another ability.

In this case, they try to cast Grave Titan, it is exiled and replaced by whatever, priority is passed to me, and I cast Memnite at instant speed. My Grave Titan :)

....ayewoah. MY grave titan. lol.

so it turns out knowledge pool is going to be such a pain.

0

Aww :( I was mistaken.

116.3c If a player has priority when he or she casts a spell, activates an ability, or takes a special action, that player receives priority afterward.

116.3d If a player has priority and chooses not to take any actions, that player passes. If any mana is in that player's mana pool, he or she announces what mana is there. Then the next player in turn order receives priority.

Oh well, that would have been too sick ;) So yes, you could get your Gravetitan still if you had an instant available and the mana to cast it.

yeahthatsright, MY grave titan. LOL, ain't nobody gonna steal my gt. you can have a 2/2 zombie if you realllly want. ;P

but either way, man. the idea is solid. (:

Ah haha, back to square 1 XD What I meant to say in the first reply. I'm glad you like it :) This is perhaps my favorite card spoiled from MBS, just because of all the shenanigans (plus it was spoiled /with/ like a 2 page errata o.o)

But seriously, I would consider including some way to bounce the Pool back to your hand before any of your opponents gets a chance to do that. Luckily, Beseiged gives a solution to this exact problem: look up Steel Sabotage.

As soon as you cast Knowledge Pool, cast steel sabotage to imprint that card. Empty your hand of all your free things, Memnites and whatnot, then with your last one, cast that same Steel Sabotage you imprinted, returning Knowledge Pool to your hand and thanking your opponents for their kind donations :D

That... I don't know why I didn't think of that. It's a very good idea. I could gank whatever I please and bounce Knowledge Pool back to my hand before my opponents get a chance to respond. I'll have to consider that, it'd change the deck around quite a bit.

hey man this looks like you have given it a lot of thought i have a master transmuter deck and i have to say if you can swap things around from your hand why not drop the biggest and baddest , also you spoke above of wurmcoils and stuff but i dont see em in the deck, sorry if im missing something, also master of ethirum i found hes not alsways the best in this deck i know you have cjeap drop artifact creatures bu these are the ones you bounce around to you hand right meaning they raley attack (summing sicknessect) i found i soon dropped him to add more of the cards that let the deck flow and function, great that you have come up with such a cool idea for such a new card so quick, weel done.
