This deck is designed to hit face hard while still having some mid to late play if needed.It's based off Tom Ross's deck, which I put up here: http://www.mtgvault.com/scottymandingo/decks/heroic-red/I've made quite a few tweaks and have been testing it quite a bit and it seems to be doing better and better.Control has a lot of trouble keeping up.Stomp decks also usually have trouble keeping up and I don't mind trading a Cackler or Shred Freak with a pump for a Boon Satyr or Polukranos.Blue devotion decks can counter and bounce, but it's usually too overwhelming or fast.Black has trouble dealing with Cackler, Shred Freaks, and the speed.
Usually I can hit for at least 4-5 on turn two... depending.T1: Mountain; Akroan Crusader/Legion LoyalistT2: Mountain; Madcap Skills/Titan's Strength/Ash Zealot; if Akroan Crusader, get a token, swing for 5.; if not, play Ash Zealot and swing again.T3: Mountain; Madcap on Ash, or Dragon Mantle on Akroan, etc.I was hesitant to add Fanatic of Mogis at first, but it's been really great using him so far. You honestly don't need much on the field to really make him useful. Usually my opponents life is down by the time I'm able to cast him. He either finishes off my opponent, or I lay him down, they take the damage and then I swing with 4-5 creatures.The deck is pretty straight forward, but there a lot of little nuances here and there to really keep it interesting.Let's see your comments!
