Deck discussion for Legacy Black Control

this is an awesome deck...at first i was wondering how you would win...but sacrifincing + liliana is a great idea and consume spirit will take its toll...very nice deck! please comment on my burn deck!

First off...I'd put Damnation in for Barter in Blood...given the fact that you play no creatures...for the same mana cost you can wipe out your opponent..there's no benefit to making your opponent sack just 2 when you could kill them all. Also...Classic Black Control wins with corrupt..but the consume spirit is an interesting idea...though it'd cost more mana late game.

ya screw barter in blood go with damnation. id switch duress for mind twist. And i dont understand y u would have Haunting Echoes in this deck when u are playing with Liliana? Mabey add an Avatar of woe or 2 since u will be killing there creatures off quickly also

Here is how I built this deck: I have a couple of ways to win, One is with consume spirit, but for a reason or two (i.e. playing againsts life gain white/green decks) I cant win. Next is Liliana, by taking other creatures. But again there is reanimators in play... So Liliana is a good card finder (2nd ability) Last is Haunting Echoes (library destroy). All are win conditions against different decks.

As for the barters, I will consider it but Damnations are proxies right now so I cant play them legaly, but I have thought this and I will do it when I find them. Thank you all for the comments.

A nice twist could be Yawgmoths Bargain. It would give you the draw you need at your pace late game. The obvious drawback is your draw rate is based on your life but your first win condition is Consume Spirit. Bargain would pair well with Lilliana's 2nd ability. Half of the shock would be that the opponent knows you can draw your card whenever you choose to do so. I am also curious to know if you would play conservatively or aggresively.

Well I play conservatively for the first 3-4 rounds (wheni have duress, extirpate ad therapy to stall my opponent). After i have some serious spells in my hands that I know they can control the game (like damnation and liliana) I play more aggesively but still with caution. This deck doesnt have many instants. I tried to add Vedalken Orrery but it didnt help much...

try putting in urborg, tomb of yawgmoth. it'll make your cabal coffers count towards themselves, plus tap for black mana early game.
the deck seems rather slow to get going due to the spells casting costs, so i'd advise packing more hand disruption, thoughtseize, inquisition of kozilek or blackmail for example.
i'd also advise ditching the haunting echoes since it doesn't do anything for you.

Love this deck, heck, everybody(excluding the opponents) loves legacy MBC! I agree with the guy above me about Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, I'm currently looking for some to put in my decks. Very evil, and very amusing, so I give this a 10/10
