Deck Description

This is a better version of this http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=390559 because I broke down and spent money on Magic again. Damn you Wizards!

Basically it burns you in the face and you say ouch.

===EDIT===

Added Two Increasing Vengeance, for an auger spree and a brimstone volley. Ash Zelots on the Sideboard.

==EDIT==

Fiddled with the speed more, broke down and got 2 bonfires.

a more burn oriented rakdos deck. There are a few things i think u should switch out the first being fling which is a nice card but the chances of u running into one while still having 1 of your creatures out is slim. auger spree is another versatile card but it only works with rakdos's trample but u only have 1 rakdos. it does work with desecration demon but nobody lets him stay on the field or attack unless they have a blocker for him. Dreadbore should be main boarded. there are other cards u can play around with like flames of griselbrand and still best burn card in the game bonefire of the damned. it does look like ur working with budget so ash zealot, tibalt(-4 effect is worth it), and increasing vengence are all inexpensive cards that could give this a little more firepower.

Well truly, I like it! I'm no professional, but I think you might want to use rakdos return. That card is deadly if it's activated and succeeded, so I'd suggest it.

I don't like that card at it's cost right now. Devil's play burns for one more and flashes back, and i don't really care if I they discard if I am winning turn 5-7. Against top tier decks I can see it having an advantage but right now I'm pretty screwed against them anyway. Thanks though!

You'd care if when you pay 5 your opponent dicards 3 mid game cards which means they may be the last cards in hand. This is a huge advantage for you since this deck will likely burn out by turn 4.

Needs tons of improvement...

If U want this to be competative, U play more creatures & a little less spells... I'll check in & help again, but I'm really tired right now... :)

It is a burn deck that kills turns 5-7 or dies, with the feeling that it will win more two thirds of the time which is what it wants. The help I need is with sideboard.

You also need more one/two drops that can have lasting effect (like kill spells and creatures/enchantments)

The burn in here kills most things, also auger spree is a kill spell in this deck not a pump. If I am playing another Aggro deck I burn creatures away and let it get to one of my finishers and they stall out. Pillar not only exiles Gravecrawler and geist it is also functional burn and lets Rakdos drop turn 5, I think it is a ligit card. I agree the deck is relient on guttersnipe turn three or 4 but an early Increasing Vengeance is excellent as well though. Duel casting is not something that I think would be helpful, at least not in this deck because the card that it would get placed on in more often than not vulnerable to burn. The elemental is an interesting card, I might play test with that a little bit. Thank you!

Iwould cut augur spree and sign in blood for falkenrath aristocrat and faithless looting and swap rakdos charm for dreadbore. You need more kill and be less reliant on an early guttersnipe. Pillar of flame is mostly useless w/out a guttersnipe. Lower your rate of useless burn

Edit: adding 1-3x nivmagus elemental and 2-4x dual casting can result in instant wins w/ burn :)

I like it, great take on Rakdos :)

I'm not a big fan of Devils Play tho, I'd rather switch them to Bonfires.

By the way your deck is very similar to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yx-PYPNX29I&feature=g-hist

Maybe you can get something out of it, I dunno :)

hey honestly, i really like Bump in the night...It may not be removal, but it has synergy with doubling cards like reverberate..3 mana for 6 damage, with a guttersnipe thats 8 damage for 3 mana!

0

That's actually 4 damage and 6 life loss with guttersnipe since you'd get triggers off of the bump and reverberate for guttersnipe, but bump is life loss not damage. Please feel free to comment on my standard control deck http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=390062. Thanks!

you could maybe run Chandra and ping with her or copy with her. Just a thought

I might recommend changing out devil's play for volcanic geyser. You pay one more mana, but it is instant speed which is great for keeping your mana up to respond to threats. Also, instead of dreadbore which is spot removal and sorcery speed, you might try magma quake since it hits all creatures and planeswalkers (which you don't care about anyway) and it's instant speed. In addition, magma quake doesn't target, so it can hit geist of saint traft and other hexproof creatures. Rakdos charm is more of a sideboard card. Please comment on my deck http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=390062 Thanks!

If you have more try play testing with more vexing devils, it's a great card 1 drop 4 damage or you play a 4/3.

I think your deck needs either more creatures, or a faster way of winning. As it is you rely almost entirely on burn to beat your opponent, but in standard that is practically impossible to do quickly and consistently. You have the consistent part down, but your deck is made for a long battle (I assume from the spells with flashback). The problem there is you can be overrun by creatures or finished with a big spell, planeswalker, etc. I think a good edit to the deck would to have it run like a traditional RDW, have a low cost aggressive creature base and finish with burn spells. That way you have some protection to go longer and pop off some of that flashback, and you may run a little bit faster if your creatures are unblocked early on. I think even a Chandra would be fine in your deck since you could definitely use her 2nd ability, and her 3rd if you reached it could wipe a big field. Hope this helps! We can talk more if you want specific edit suggestions. Check out my defender deck too http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=397252

Hey maybe you could trry adding a single Underworld connections, it would help you get your momentum back by drawing it at any point of the game

I'd like to agree with you, but the only way this would be useful is if he run more discard which offsets the cost of life. Underworld Connections is an awesomely useful card for B.

I would suggest one or two of the unleash creatures, and main deck Mizzium Mortars to creature clear. If Vexing Devil is going to be in it should be all the way in. There are several draw/discard options to put more cards into your hand early which eliminates unwanted mana draws.

The draw/discard would mess up the miracle cards he has in his deck, but I agree with the Vexing Devils. 4 Bump in the Night and 4 Vexing Devils can make for a really nasty beginning for the opponent.

The devil sits there as a placeholder mostly, It was a thunderous wrath but I had them in my first hand to often. If I threat it like a weaker wrath it is just fine.

Trust me, Vexing Devil is the better play if you are burning and burning quickly.

Very nice standard deck! I always thouht bump was underrated. It is so much easier for burn now that there are so many crazy burn spells. Guttersnipe is one of my favorite cards. I threw two of him in my goblin deck and he beats face better than my goblin legends. I think you will like my standard deck. Demons are so much fun:
