Playtest update:

This deck rocked. 5 player game with all cards legal.

First turn, played Izzet Boilerwork tapped.
Turn two, untap Boilerwork, play swamp, play Parasitic Strix. I gain 2 life (22) each player down to 18.
Turn three, Tap swamp for mana, lay down Crosis's Catacombs, tap Boilerwork and Catacomb and play Stranglehold.
Turn four, lay down swamp, tap boilerwork, catacomb, and swamp to play Maralen of Mornsong. Each player in turn has to skip draw and cannot search. They each lose 3 life and down to 15.
Turn five, I am down to 17 life and lay a swamp to play Parasitic Strix. Each player is down to 13 and I am now at 19. I play Bloodchief Ascension.
Turn six, each player has lost life and is now at 10 while I am at 16 at the beginning of my turn. I lay a swamp and play Havoc Festival.

Each player starts with 10 life at the beginning of their turn. They each lose 5 life at the beginning of their upkeep step and another 3 atthe begining of their draw step leaving each with 2 life.

Turn seven. I lose half my life and another three for a total of 5. I play 2 maggot carriers for 2 damage to each player. Final life count for me was 3.

What I did not show was my Izzet Guildmage took damage as well as each Parasitic Stix and all were in the graveyard. I had a Swamp, Cruel Ultimatum, Grave Consequences and Mage's Contest in hand.

It played well and many aspects of the deck were never seen.

Game #2 - Same players, same decks.

Turn 1 - Swamp
Turn 2 - Izzet Boilerworks, Maggot Carrier
Turn 3 - Izzet Boilerworks, Maggot Carrier
Turn 4 - Swamp, Parasitic Stix, Parasitic Stix (Life totals at this time were 14,16,14,16,22)
Turn 5 - Swamp, Blood Tyrant
Turn 6 - Swamp, Blood Tyrant (Each player loses 1 life from previous Blood Tyrant) +5/+5 Blood Tyrant attacks player 1. (life totals are now 3,14,12,14,20)
Turn 7 - Blood tyrant upkeep takes 1 from each (1,12,10,12,18) BT#1 is now a 15/15 while #2 is a 10/10. Lay a swamp and play Exsanguinate for 7 life from each player new life totals are (out,5,3,5,40) and each BT gets a +5/+5. I attack player 2 and player 4 taking each of them out and adding another +10/+10 to each BT making #1 a 30/30 and #2 a 25/25. Player 3 resigns.

These 2 games played out completely different from each other.

Update #2: I removed the Cascade Bluffs dueto price and replaced them with creeping tarpit (for the unblockable creature and UB mana source) and Crosis Catacombs (for the UBR mana source). This now looks a lot more rounded.

The update did raise the price a little, but considering what they brought, it looks nice. My concern is that with 5 players, the game might go really quick or go on for a long time. While the quick is something you cannot control (if they gang up on one individual it is not indicative of their build), a long game draws a little worry from me. I am not concerned so much with the number of cards butthe balance of mana producing. What kills in the multiplayer games is inability to do anything because of mana shortage. I was thinking of adding a couple of lands that also produce black mana, maybe some pain mana... what do you think?

This is an udated version of before. Added were stranglehold, izzet guildmages, and cruel ultimateum. The islands and mountains were dropped for the izzet boilerworks, izzet guildgate and cascade bluffs.
