try to get some Izzet Guildmages from the Ravnica block (there's an infinite damage combo with Lava Spike and Desperate Ritual)

i'd probably cut down Sift and Reach down to 2 and 3 each, respectively.

3-4 copies of a legendary is wasteful imho..i would cut circu and szadek down to two of each...replace them with some Hedron Crabs :)

agreed on the need for Greater Auramancy

biggest problem i see with this great deck idea is that you set yourself up so that you can't lose... but you don't really have anything that actually makes you win either. add some creatures.

12 tutors is completely ridiculous. the mystical tutors can't even search for anything other than other tutors. and honestly there's nothing in your deck that's worth tutoring.

take all of them and add something of value. perhaps those Storm Cauldron you mention in the description

too many cards and too many singles. and you're missing the most important card of this deck archetype. Arcbound Crusher! you need 4.

take out all the non artifact creatures. take out the cards like Kraken's Eye and Demon's Horn..total waste in this deck.

this deck archetype is extremely well established...there's probably hundreds of examples on this site....look a few up to give you an idea of what's actually useful to it.

short on land, i would add at least 2-3 more.

I don't really like the aeronauts, would replace them with 2 Spidersilk Nets, one extra hookmaster and one of those extra lands.

same for the outfitter...cut them down to 2, you don't have enough equipment for them to be worth it. replace the other 2 with Kor Cartographers.

conqueror's pledge is a good idea.

yes, definitely needs at least a few creatures...hedron crabs are always worth it

but i really like the interactions that haunting echoes and path to exile have with archive trap.

too many cards, too many singles, trying to be too many things.

mill decks need to be very focused. if it's not there to mill, take it out, it's only slowing you down and giving the opponent more turns to kill you.

use cheaper creatures that work directly towards your goal(ie: milling)...Drowner Initiate, Hedron Crab, Raven Guild Master...these are cheap and very effective.

A splice deck without Lava Spike is like christmas without santa.

then again I don't get the point of 40card decks either :P

Standard is currently Zendikar+Alara block, so this deck is definitely not Standard legal.(not that it matters much)

if you can score a few, I highly recommend Hearthfire Hobgoblin and Scourge of the Nobilis...together they make a 4/4 double-strike lifelink that you can pump up ..that's a game changer =)

i would swap out the Painter's Servant for some Hedron Crabs and the Vision Charm for some Psychic Drains

i don't think having four copies each of two legendaries is a good idea...that's 6 cards you can't actually play.

i'd suggest removing two of each and replacing them with some instants like Mending Hands

a quick note: the Marsh Casualties will not trigger any of your effects related to -1/-1 counters. giving a creature -1/-1 until end of turn is a separate effect and does not involve counters.

very nice idea. i have a mono black wither deck and now I'm really curious about switching it up and throwing in some red as you have done.

As for your deck...I would probably replace the 2 Incremental Blight with 2 more Crumbling Ashes. The Blight is a tad costly and likely to backfire whereas having multiple Crumbling Ashes in play can quickly seize control.

with red, you also have the option of adding something like Power of Fire with Corrosive Mentor for a cost effective way of consistently giving out -1/-1 counters to enemy creatures. A few Fists of the Demigod would be nice as well.

if format isn't an issue, never get rid of Desperate Ritual and Lava Spike....with Izzet Guildmage they make the infinite damage combo.

especially fun in multiplayer chaos games, it's awesome to kill 4 ppl in one shot =)
