I think, there is no reason for beacon. after orb-fastbond-crucible is ready, you may have infinite of life. For 6 mana, it is useless...or...maybe, you have some strong argument ;-).
Meh... your call. But the more spells needed for your combo, the weaker and less likely you will succeed. I mean, you're at twenty+ life. Your sovereign is out. BOOM! You win.
