Deck discussion for Worldfire

Yes, this is fun stuff. With all of your mana ramp, you are getting out Worldfire very quickly, huh? You, on rare occasions, can get Worldfire out on turn 4? Or maybe even 3? Next turn kill them.

I like something like Lightning bolt and Chain Lightning over Mogg Fanatic and Spark Jolt. I get the idea, you only need to do one damage after you play Worldfire...but Lighting bolt and Chain Lightning are going to do 3 damage for 1 mana...that is more versatile. I mean, you are paying one red mana regardless...might as well be able to do 3 damage over only 1 damage. In an emergency, Lightning Bolt and Chain Lightning are better against any creatures your opponent has.

Technically, 2 turns to kill them. First turn after Worldfire (draw Mountain/Lotus Petal/Simian). Second turn. Mogg/Spark/Lighting bolt/chain lightning/raging goblin).

Honestly this deck is horrible, how will you win when you reset everything back to normal? They could easily win just as easy as you could. You guys are back to square one without and gain. You need creatures that when the leave the battlefield they make a dude or something because that way they can't do anything in response and they would die because of it. Thragtusk is a KEY card for this deck. Maybe look into some other cards similar to add in so you can have a definite win under your belt compared to you having to rely on luck.

He has a good chance of winning the game, after Worldfire. He has 8 Free Mana cards. He has several cards that can kill in one turn/one mana. It is a crazy suicidal deck...but i think he has the advantage of winning after casting the Card.

I would recommend Spark Elemental over Memnite. Haste/Trample/one red mana 3/1creature.

How will he do this when he dumps his hand due to worldfire? It resets back to normal and he has to rely on a top deck just like his opponent.

Yes. But he has a better chance of winning by top decking for 2 turns vs. his opponent. You have to give him that much. He has, I almost bet a weeks paycheck, has more mana ramp/1 mana burn then his opponent. He gets Worldfire out. He and his opponent hits 1 life. He has Simian for mana. He has Lotus Petal for Mana. He has mountains for mana. All to draw into. Then he has Raging Goblin, Fanatic, Spark Jolt, etc to do the one damage.

Idea is that, after he cast Worldfire, whomever gets to do one damage first wins. He has the best chance at doing so.

1st draw: Mountain/Simian/Lotus Petal.
2nd Draw. Fanatic, Or Spark Elemental. Or Raging Goblin. Or Lighting Bolt.

or

1st draw: Fanatic. Spark. Goblin. Bolt
2nd draw. Mountain/Simian/Lotus Petal

Game over.

The mana ramp, i think is what gives him the edge. That and all the cheap spells.

But why worry about a top deck compared to just instawinning without any problems? You have the ramp, just use it to play a Thragtusk and just win next turn without having to rely on a top deck at all

That could work too. Cards like Thragtusk that give you a creature when they are removed from the battlefield. A colorless or red card that does the same as Thragtusk could work, also. Not sure of any, though.

That's what would make this deck work really really well. I'll research some red or colorless alternatives to thrag :)

I saw Keldon Marauders as the only red source. If you just use the triggers right this could be the win con after worldfire triggers :)

And it would be more consistent than praying that you get two good draws after Worldfire. I liked that suggestion. Keldon Marauders is new to me, and it looks to be a very mean card! It is rated 4.2 out of 5. Nice.

I hadn't even heard of the card before seeing this deck. Just getting back into Magic. Like the Wee Psychonauts...I didn't even know it existed until I looked at your deck. Lots of fun and interesting cards have came out.

This site seems full of them. Themed decks. Entire decks built around 1 or 2 cards. It is neat. I hate on them a lot...only because they seem like if you take out 1 or 2 cards, their entire deck falls apart...but I do need to give credit to you Splooge and you Snowman for putting them together. And I need to thank you guys for showing me new cards.

Appreciate it.

And more and more I think about it, the Keldon Marauders suggestion was one of the best I have seen. I liked the comment.

Hello everyone,
I was not expecting anyone to check out my deck really but allow me to explain why i picked what i did. Spark Jolt was my first choice due to its Scry ability. If i have not been able to draw a Worldfire then ill pop a Spark Jolt to give me a Scry if my opponent is getting close to killing me. Although i'm not use to people reviewing my deck so I'm happy to see the comments. I just altered it a bit due to budget issues and not being able to get the trades i needed so i took out the 4 Lotus Bloom for 4 Rites of Flames which ill change back when i can get them. This deck is now up and running as of yesterday and I've played 8 games, won 6 of them with the average win time being 4 turns. All in all i think it turned out great and ill be making test decks with everyone's advice to see if i can improve it with trades and buying the rest of the cards.

So i just looked at Keldon Marauders and im hoping my friend will have some up for trade :D. if he does ill be dropping the Raging Goblins and swapping them. I see how well they work in my deck and they'll improve it a ton.

The new re-issued edition of my deck, it covers the problems with the original copy of the deck and adds a side board. The main board is 100% functional at this moment, however i'm lacking a few of the key cards for the side board such as the gargardons and the final fortunes. Hopefully ill be getting them soon from a friend, let me know what you all think.
