Deck Description

Casual deck built around using lifegain to generate +1/+1 counters on your creatures.

How to Play

Best play is T2 Wall of Omens, T3 Cultivate, T4 Ageless, T5 True Conviction. If they don't die to the double striking Ageless (8 damage the first time it swings, 32 on the next turn, 96 damage on it's 3rd swing) an Archangel of Thune will allow the rest of your creatures to snowball rapidly.

Solemn Offering works well with Angelic Accord, letting you play a T4 4/4 Angel Token if you are having bad luck with draws.

This deck is very powerful in long games, due too being able to Harmonize for card advantage, and then Elixir so you don't deck yourself, and can resist milling from blue.

Bow of Nylea is virtually always best used for traditional lifegain to pump your creatures, or in concert with another small lifegain (Greypelt Refuge) to spawn angels with Angelic Accord. It can also be used as an anti-milling card against a blue deck.

Angelic Accord is very strong against decks with lots of creature removal, or cards that force sacrificing of your own creatures. By turn 8 or 9 you can be spawning 2-3 4/4 angels essentially every turn, which are in turn activating Trostani's. If you have Thune and Trostani's out, and get two angel tokens, you will gain 8 life, and each token will become a 6/6. (keep in mind, the tokens also have flying.

You can sideboard in Spike Feeder. This will give you an infinite life and damage combo that can be pulled off as soon as T5. (Spike Feeder T3, Serra Avenger or Trostani T4, Archangel of Thune T5 into an infinite combo. Remove infinite counters from Spike Feeder, gain life infinite times, infinite +1/+1 counters on Serra Avenger, swing for infinite damage.)

Deck discussion for W/G Lifegain Snowball

Nice deck ever thought of Wall of Reverence or Ajani Pridemate

I would like to put in some of both of those, not sure there is anything I could take out without breaking the deck though.

Remove naturalize for 1 Wall of Reverence and 2 Ajani Pridemate. Also I don't see too much reason in Angelic Skirmisher so maybe replace it with True Conviction or one more Wall of Reverence and one more Pridemate. IMO

Not really digging wall of Reverence. Trostani's is overall more usefull. Did put in the Ajani Pridemates. Like those giving the deck a bit more upfront speed.

And True Conviction is very cool. Much more aggressive than Angelic Skirmisher. I like. (sets up very very nicely for massive damage on T6 or T7 with Ageless)

How about 1 or 2 chalices of life? could be great in this deck, it gives you speed with all that lifegain!

Maybe a kalonian hydra to double the +1+1 counters?

That? It's a thought. Perhaps drop Avacyn and 1 Thune. Would seem to be somewhat diluting the deck though, too add too many diffrint 5 CMC creatures.

Maybe drop cradle because in my opinion I rather have a trampler than pay 2 mana to get +1+1 counters

Interesting rules question... Do you gain life from Trostani's when you play Kolonian?

Also you could add advent of the worm

I'm not sure I would think so because kalonian says "Enters the battlefield with 4 counters"

You would get the life from the hydra entering with having a Trostani out, as kalonian would also evoke your evolve creatures when he enters the battlefield... That was so poorly written

Hmm, cool. Don't think I'm going to use it though, as Trostani -> 8/8 Ageless -> Swing with True Conviction -> 24/24 Ageless on T7 is way scarier.

EDIT: Also, I don't own a Kalonian, and it's the only Mythic in this deck I would have to buy, so I might as well save the money.

All I'm saying is that Spike feeder and archangel is infinite life combo.

well huh. Thats nifty. It's both an infinite life and infinite damage combo at the same time.

Cool.

And legal in modern :P

Added Spike Feeder to the sideboard on the off-chance I am playing someone I really don't like.

My playgroup tends to frown on infinite combo-y type things, but this is awsome enough that I could probably get away with it once or twice without anyone getting pissed.

Why? It's a combo that can be easily stopped, doom blade, essence scatter, spell snare, path to exile, abrupt decay etc.

Alright, made some changes. Much more agressive now with the addition of Cultivate, able to put out an AAoT or AE on T4. Also much cheaper(both mana wise and as far as $$), with a more forgiving mana curve.

Plays pretty much the same but with a heavier emphasis on hitting hard with Ageless and AoT boosted by True Conviction on T5

I liked it better before all those updates, just doesn't seem heavy enough on creatures to justify true conviction and thune, I don't have any suggestions, but it seems like it needs a couple of creatures to be more effective

I may add back in a few Serra Avengers as alternate T4 drops, but I'm going to wait until I get the True Convictions(the main card I am missing) to playtest it.

I'll probably drop Chastise, because with Path to Exile/Swords to Plowshares (depending on whether it needs to be Standard legal or not) Chastise is alot less useful. Right now it is very heavy on creature removal.

EDIT: yah, just did that, and I like the look of it alot more. There was really no need for 6 creature removal spells.

Also, keep in mind that around T5/6 you can start generating LOTS of tokens with Angelic Accord and Trostani (trostani can double up. Play a creature, gain 4 life, generate a 4/4 angel, then tap Trost and Populate it next turn, THEN gain 4 more life from the 4/4 angel entering, and gain 3 or 4 in 2 turns. Potentialy all boosted by Thune if that is what you played to trigger the first one)

Interesting combos

Maybe try throwing in doubling season if its not meant to be standard just to speed up counter production. also id personally run the pridemates instead of the serras so your not restricted by turn count and it functions similarly to the AE as well. Ans maybe oblivion ring instead of path so your not assisting the opponent in any way if I'm remembering path right anyway
